Orange Box, click to play, and a no go...

First an appeal to the tech gods.....
I've installed/reinstalled Orange Box twice and am still having the same problem.

HL2, EP1, and EP2: When I click on them to run, it says loading then the window minimizes and (closes?) nothing happens.

PTL, TF2: When I click on them to run, they open and run the Valve and Source Ads then minimize and (closes?) ie: nothing happens.

I've downloaded the updates, turned off Norton, and searched the steam troubleshooting guide with no luck. Am I missing something.

I've already played HL2 on this setup with no problems

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

First I am in no way a tech god..:dork:..But, have you tried playing in offline mode? Maybe it's a steam issue? Legit copies, and legit serial numbers? Other than that, I have no idea...

I bought it at Best Buy, so it better be legit.... and I have tried to play in offline mode, but thanks for the suggestion.

I had a problem kindof like this once with TF2. I fixed it by creating a fresh steam installation (ie uninstalling all of my steam games and re-installing steam) and re-downloading only the files needed to play my game.

You should be able to backup your current steam games content in a seperate folder instead of deleting everything. Afterwards you can just replace everything that you haven't re-downloaded.

Also, you might be able to fix it by merely validating the content for all your source games instead.

Found that i didnt have my ati video drivers installed.

Yep, shame on me.. It works fine now... Please pass this on to any other people having the same problem...
