Game is looking awesome. The most interesting thing i took from all the half life 2 footage is just how much they changed the visuals to give them a more richer ambiance indoors and even outdoors. They briefly show Half Life 2 to give a glimpse at the graphical upgrades on the 360 version, and at the very end of the show they do a speed run through of the first level while the credits role. Looks like the apartments at the start of the game have a lot more lighting variation in them, and there are real time shadows with the flashlight.

Good amount of episode 2 footage in there. I just muted the sound to avoid spoilers if there was any. They say episode 2 has a lot of great moments, especially the end.

I hope one day they let us PC users have the rebuilt hl2 maps, maybe as an extra Episode 3 feature or somthing, i always hate to think i dont have the most complete version due to a console release.
 
If you're prepared for a huge download for the HDR and other features, fine.

EDIT: Crysis looks pretty lame.
 
Really awesome footage there and a bit of spoilers. Looks like the Vortigaunts had a bit of a change in their voice unless these ones are younger. Also we get a glimpse at Griggs and Sheckly, we see the vortigaunt in the lab coat and some missle silo footage.
Ep2 really has that epic feeling just from seeing these videos.
 
Alyx's voice seems... different. Less energetic. Must have something to do with getting impaled/stomped on by a Hunter, and fatigue in general.
 
What a great preview. No real spoilers and they hyped me up so much its insane!

500 MB isn't that much. It only took me one and a half hour to download.

Oh, and I really like the new vortugaunt voice :D
 
For some reason Portal just started pre loading again. Strange.

Anyway I waatched up to the OB then turned it off. I want this game to be a complete surprise.
 
This is one of the best previews, IMO. It really shows the reactions the fans might have during and after the game, and they're all overwhelmingly positive.

As it is generally thought, according to that one guy it could've made a smoother transition to the console when it came to input/control, but other than that I feel that this will be Valve's shining moment.
 
Ya finally their talking about the ep2 ending and how great it is other than always Portal. It's not that I don't like Portal but I had doubts that ep2 will end very well.
 
When has a Half-Life ending ever been a let down? The endings are always the best part of the games!

Also, I'm digging the new effects. The vortigaunt doesn't seem to be shooting "electricity" any more...rather it's some kind of wispier, plasma-like projectile.
 
Of course man! I know they are but it's just the lack of enthusiasm for the ending and all the love going to Portal's ending that had me worried but not any more.

Also it looks like Magnusson seems to be leading the whole effort behind the defense of white forest. I thought that Eli at least would be giving off a few words since he is the resistance leader and all but I guess it is Magnusson's base so it's only fair.
 
I think ep3 might but probably not ep2 as it won't give a sense of resolution like half life 2 did imo.
 
I absolutely hate how everythings released on a wednesday

I want to wait until the weekend, but thatd be pure torture :(

Actually most of the time everything is released on Tuesdays (DVDs, games)
 
Meh, has anybody realized that vortigaunt in there is actually wearing...a labcoat....riiiiighteo.

As for the video, holy heck is all I can say.
But damn the Vortigaunts have come far since Half-life 1. They changed the voice actor, didn't they?

from HL1 yes. But the Voice Actor for HL2, EP1, and EP2 is the same, Lou Gossett Jr.
 
Did anyone hear from Alyx: "Thank goodness you're ok!" *whilst nervous and paranoid*

Anyways, I don't like the Vortigaunts new voices and electric attacks. I miss the old ones!
 
I'm not ready to make a verdict on the voice yet, but I definitely like the new attacks.

True, but I thought there was some meaning behind them all having the same voice? Like they're all connected or something.

Anyone notice the Rebel near the end of the EP2 preview sounds like Adam Baldwin? (Fire Fly/Serenity he played Jayne, he was also in Angel for the last season) I e-mailed Gabe about it
