No scanner :p

Go buy it you cheapskates.

No suprise really. The OB truly is the best game compilation ever.

Ye, I would happily agree with that 10/10 by EDGE. Thats only the 5th 10/10 they have given I believe. The others where Golden Eye, Mario 64, Half-Life 1 and Half-Life 2.

I love EDGE, its a very critical mag and I like it how its very rare games get 8 or 9 out of 10.

HL got a 9 actually (I would have given it a 10), as did Golden Eye (which they later suggested deserved a 10). Mario 64, Gran Turismo, OoT, HL2 all got 10s, as did two other games beginning with an H that, considering where we are, I won't mention :p

I agree about Edge - you could spend a week browsing 1up, IGN, Gamespot, eurogamer etc and not find 10th of the info. found in each issue. Reading Koji Aizawa's regular column, usually while on the crapper, is one of my nerdy highlights of the month.

The XBox 1 port of HL2 makes for <10 imho. Otherwise, bang-for-yer-buck value = 10.

Heh, Conan better than Jericho?? Egad. At most they should have both been 5s...:rolling:

The Conan deo wasn't s bad. I'm pretty excited about Ace Combat 6. Comments like 'it feels like the game Namco has long been trying to make' and 'if you want more screenshots, just pop your head out the window and look up' are touching all my special places.

the new ace combat looks noice!

Pff. The Homeworld games were good, but i'd never give them a 10.

Halo. /is rugged and manly nuff to say it.

Good! It also outranked Halo 3 in EGM. Haha..
I prefer OB over Halo 3 any day.
But come on, I can have both!!
/cept my xbox is broken
/is sad cannot play AC6, cause of aforementioned xbox.

Bioshock got a 10/10 in GFW, which is pretty rare. Im curious to see what they give OB.

Come to think of, isn't it rather unsurprising that Edge gave 10/10 to a game compilation that includes a game they already gave 10/10 to in the first place? Looking past the review scores for the Orange Box, which have been phenomenal, where the new parts of the package have been reviewed, the scores haven't really been the level of 'impressive' that Valve managed before going episodic.

As with the Halo 3 review, the score was given for the whole package. HL2 is a few years old now and wouldn't get an Edge 10/10 now, neither would any of the other Orange Box components alone. It seems that oodles of quality entertainment qualifies for a 10 these days which, while fine with me (how could you not give Orange Box a 10?), is quite a departure from how they used to rate games.

Yeah, it seems like it would be more consistent if they just reviewed each game individually rather than give the entire compilation one single score.

To be fair, Valve only made two games before going episodic, and to my understanding they spent at least 3 years on Half-life and 5-6 years on Half-life 2.
