Another year where Scorsese gets raped...

WHY COULDN'T THEY JUST GIVE HIM THE OSCAR FOR RAGING BULL!?!?!?!!?!

How the **** do The Departed and Little Miss Sunshine beat out Pan's Labyrinth and Children of Men for spots in Best Film!?

While the Academy looks to be getting better, they still seem like morons.

^^^^^^^^
To be fair, the guy can act. I havent seen his new movie, but if he's as good in this as he was in Ali, then he deserves at least a nomination.

Greengrass deserves to win best director. Sorry Scorsese.

Because the Academy are like the Olympic Commitee - should all be ***ked and burned.

The only reason they nominated The Departed is because they've been raping Scorsese every year, from Goodfellas to Raging Bull, Casino

I see them giving Scorsese the "Here ya go, we finally gave ya' an Oscar" award

Bet you will Clint Eastwood will win :p

Don't forget Taxi Driver and Mean Streets

I Also think Sasha Cohen should have been nominated as well( for acting).

I hope Abigail Breslin wins best supporting actress.

Have you even seen The Pursuit For Happyness? Although he doesn't deserve an Oscar, he played a very convincing role.

There is nothing that could convince me he is a good enough actor to get an oscar.

I would hope good acting would be enough to convince anyone.

I think both the Departed and Little Miss Sunshine are excellent choices, I just would like to see Children of Men on there too. Pans Labyrinth is another great choice, but it isn't eligible for the category.

If Will Smith beats out Peter O'Toole, then clearly the apocalypse is upon us.

Letters from Iwo Jima for best picture!!

Cant believe Will Smith got nominated... I think Ken Watanabe deserves the spot more for his portrayal of the japanese general in LFIJ. Will Smith was basically playing himself in his role on pursuit of happiness. Nothing ground-breaking from will smith, but just a fair acting performace of his character in my opinion.

Forest WHitaker strongly deserves the oscar.

Helen Mirren for best actress.

And if Borat wins best adapted screenplay then the Oscars has lost all credibility, just like all the critics who praised the movie.

I have to go smack someone on the head....Pan's Labyrinth does seem to actually be eligible for Best Picture, so its stupid that its not on there. :D

Best Foreign Film, at least.

I'd say its pretty likely it'll win. It'll be a travesty if it doesnt.

Forest Whitaker was astoundingly good in Last King of Scotland. I think Walberg deserves an oscar for the Departed, he was damn good (although I havent seen the rest of the nominated performances).

Ummm... if he was supposed to be acting, I couldn't tell. Normally that's a good thing, in this case it was bad. He was a stereotypical character at best. And he did a fairly shite job of doing even that. Granted, I wasn't impressed with any of the acting in The Departed. Leo was alright, and Damon was passable. Nicholson's role was laughably hammy.

If Children of Men doesn't get best cinematography and film editing I will sodomize a llama. D:

It deserves a best film nomination ffs!
