Besides, there will be plenty of good titles if HL2 is indeed delayed until April 04 (Although, I'm still optimistic ), I've come to find myself wanting Far Cry, now, STALKER too, and I'm still kind of eh about Doom 3 (not a fan of Doom games, but Doom 3 does look mighty perty), but Far Cry is a definite for me

Farcry is delayed?

Max Payne 2 : very nice but one day of playing

Call of Duty : excellent but one day and a half to complete

I'm not a very quick player so many will achieve them quicker!!

Those new game have a lot of effects, details, nice textures, great level design, but they are shorter and shorter.

I've made a lot of levels and many mods for HL and other games and i'm aware that getting that level of complexity has a cost. In despite of what has been said about HL2 needing 50 houres to achieve, i believe that we could have a bad surprise.

From what i have seen about i was not supposed to see, i can tell you that some level can be achieved in a few minutes if you have a brain behind your eyes. Great and huge levels with a lot of details and a very good AI, but very short!!
I just hope that Valve will add a lot of puzzles to solve or we will be waiting about HL3 just one day after the HL2 release.
Of course i dont include the multiplayer side in this.

Far Cry Delayed

UbiSoft have announced that their excellent looking FPS Far Cry has been delayed until Q1 2004. The reason for the delay is to ramp up the multi-player and online modes for the game.

"Far Cry features non-scripted AI, unmatchable view distance and is set on a beautiful tropical island with the lushest terrain ever seen in a FPS. Additionally, the game's stunning graphics, freely explorable indoor and outdoor environments, authentic physics-on-demand, variety of gameplay, and universally acclaimed pick-up-and-play level editor will set new benchmarks in the genre."

I'm still very much interested in Half-Life 2, I worded that wrong.

Far Cry visually doesn't look that nice, model animations and the game in general look rather unprofessional and unpolished.

However, it's some of the Crytech engine technologies that have really got me interested.

I feel very similar about Stalker, however it's got a few extra brownie points over Far Cry for various visual/media related reasons.

I'm looking forward to Doom 3 only for the multiplayer, which should be the most engrosing atmospheric deathmatch experience ever created.

I'm looking forward to Quake 4 because It's Quake, and it's on the Doom 3 engine. Like-wise, I'm looking forward to Thief 3, because it's Thief.

Max Payne 2 was cool, except there's no multiplayer and the single player experience is incredibly short.

Call of Duty I thought was rather poor, just another WWII shooter to me. There are already dozens of other WWII shooters out there, and CoD unfortunately isn't in a class of its own, its in no way revolutionary in comparison to the others.

I was being sarcastic (and I know, it doesn't show through the internet..), I knew you were looking forward to HL2 (Otherwise, you wouldn't be a moderator at one of the leading HL2 sites)

Deus Ex 2, Thief III are the two highest PC games on my list right now. Thief III especially. Also, I believe in two weeks time Manhunter for the PS2 will be released. I'm looking forward to that, the premise is intriguing, and the atmosphere and gameplay brutal and unforgiving. Perfect

Yeah, Deus Ex: Invisible War looks pretty damn awesome from all the pics that I've seen from it so far (on Xbox and PC). I'm pretty excited about that one. Thief III, of course also.
