If this has already been discussed i'm sorry, i took a quick glance at the thread titles and didnt seeing anything relating to my question. Which is...i was wondering if whoever is in charge of setting up the forum's layout plans to put our profiles back to the left of our posts rather than above them. It looks neater in my opinion and i'm willing to bet other's think so aswell. Besides that, great job so far on the vbulletin version upgrade and restoring the HL2.net style scheme.

IMO I like it above the posts. Besides, you name is big and in bold on the top.:)

I dont like it.

Especially because the Join date and post count information is WAY over to the right.
I think i like it better with all the info together at the left.

maybe i should start a poll.

I agree, the old setup was better. Munro said there'd be an option in the user cp sometime soon...

There shouldn't be post-count and post-rank info displayed at all, short of moderators and admins and that. They just create indifference between vet posters and new posters. People get cocky and think just because they jocky the fourms longer and have more 0's next to their post count that they are better and cooler and there opinions are more important than everyone elses.

People naturally hate change ( I'm one of them ). There's a poll in off-topic about this and the majority of votes ( last time I checked ) were in favour of changing it back to being on the left. You may just get your wish.

1) Post count was removed. It's back now, with the update on a trial run. The first sense of someone spamming to up their post count and we'll remove it again.

2) Post-Ranks have pros as well as cons. Research shows that only the headcrabs got picked on, at one point ( before a stricter moderation was applied ), so we've lowered the jump from headcrab to zombie to just ten posts. Well, I think it's ten :)

3) Anyone found being abusive simply because of a forum tag will be officially warned via PM and then if they continue, will be banned.

Your only saying that because your a head crab :p

That's exactly the sort of thing he's talking bout, Mr. Chimp. It's people like you that are bringing this froum down! ;-)

Oh, and I don't think bringing post counts back is a bad idea at all. Time will tell, though. Time will tell...

To be honest, Dr. Freeman, I've spent no time whatsoever learning the new layout with regards to posting, moderation, profile or admin control panel.

The moderation options should be straight forward and profile just looks like it's been split up for no good reason, perhaps the vbb team were bored. I don't really use posting stuff as I'm always using quicky reply and I can't really study the admin control panel as all admins except Munro and StarMonkey, our inhouse php hacker, have been removed until the forums are setup and stable.
