Outside

I don't like much about Texas... but I'd be willing to go there because they have tech jobs and the weather is more my style... since I hate the cold. I'd rather be in Florida though.

edit: heres my backyard
What part of New York is that? Is that a huge piece of property, or are you backed onto some national forest?

I don't go outside because of

We'll go from 101° to 105° (rarely hotter) for about a week, which is mandatory swim time. There's a sweet spot between the snow runoff warming up and the ambient temperature peak that makes swimming perfect.

believe it or not its private property behind our perimeter. ever since i was a kid the fields and woods were fair game for massive capture the flag and hide and go seek crazyness not to mention all the dirtbikes, mopeds, bmx bikes, 3/4 wheelers etc that we'd tear up back there. but now theres a shitload of homes back there too. in the winter you can see most of the homes, but right now everything is green and filled in. also this is a Suburb of Buffalo, which is WNY

Just kayaked to the Potomac, awesome new accomplishments to be had. Jetski'ed for the first time yesterday, was quite surprised how easy/fun it was. Driving to Shenandoah to take a hike up a mountain on tuesday hopefully.

Will probably take a camera out the next time I kayak pretty far.

Well it's Winter here, so I'm gonna settle down & do some gaming. :D

Hey Vegeta

Sheepo - looking forward to pics.
Jul3 - winter: many feet of snow? cooler temperatures? Rain?

This weekend: two nights camping at a high-altitude lake. We rented a pedal kayak and tooled around the lake's many islands and little estuaries.

I was hoping to see a fisher or marten, but only got a shot of an osprey (the pic's been cropped to cut out lots of sky):

Holy shit, I thought that first picture was a screenshot.

None at all, it's actually sunny right nar. Well that's Australia for you eh? Still not gonna stop me from gaming though. :P

Holy shit, I thought that first picture was a screenshot.

I thought so at first too. Looking at the water and reflections.

Even the ****ing rocks look like they could be from a game.

Yeah, the polygons are really simple. God was trying to save resources for the textures and reflection effects.

Okay, so turns out I didn't go as far as I thought yesterday, only a huge creek which flows into the Potomac. Today, I put on sunscreen, even though I didn't use it yesterday and was fine, and rode out. Today I got burnt as ****. About 2.5 hours there and back. Awesome combination of exhaustion of satisfaction. Unfortunately my camera is sort of broken, but it should be good by the time I go for my hike tomorrow. I'll make sure to get some pictures next time.

I was just outside for like 5 hours holy shit.

Never again.

I finally sprayed down my wasp nest, since 75 degree weather + early morning spraying = dormant wasps. But it took way longer than "instantly" for my Raid Hornet & Wasp spray to work. I definitely stood there for at least 5 seconds spraying, like "hey guys aren't you supposed to be dead now." One particularly strong one even managed to latch onto the nest during the first spray and took another bit of spray to knock off.

I'd go out and knock it down for a picture except I'm feeling queasy after eating what was apparently some really bad/spoiled food. The worst since riverboat food in China. Couldn't even make it through a can of soup for dinner tonight, and pictures of what ought to be really delicious desserts all make me feel disgusted.

Bike ride today to the top of the local ski resort, and back down (about 30 miles).

One of the summit chairlifts:

There's still patches of snow on the ground, and we're anywhere from 7k to 8k feet above sea level, so the temperature stayed in the 60s.

Cone from a Sugar Pine; the seeds are yummy.

Another summit chairlift.
