overclock hl2

I have a 9800 pro aiw stock at 378 core, i can only overclock it to 382 before i get artifacts in hl2, other games I can get around 418. Is there a certin way to get better overclocks in hl2?

get overclocks in hl2? Overclocking just improves your performance, it isn't a thing on itself.

To answer you question, I think there are some ATi overclocking tools made specifically for the overclocking of ATi cards.

HL2 is more CPU intensive than graphics. OC your CPU a little bit.

What this probably indicates is that the other applications you're trying are more forgiving of OC errors & artifacts, not that you aren't getting them.

HL2 is more intense and therefore will show when you are OCing too high before those other games. Get better cooling or some Arctic Silver thermal compound to help cool your GFX card.
