Alll the plonkers who utilise P2P have a new trick up their sleeve :O

Basically this applies when downlaoding video files.

The file come as a zip archive so u unzip it unaware of what is contained and no viruses are detected
within the file is a readme a extractor and a dat file.

The readme states yada yada pictures from the conert included we designed this extractor so we can give you perfect quality at half the size ....

However,
The extractor actually reconstucts several viruses and virus embedded jpegs from the dat and also place links to pornografic websites in a folder called m and a subfolder in there called x these are all pay sites for various genres.

Due to the nature of the dat file any virus software will have a very very hard time finding anything slighty wrong so if you have any virus software ( your are just asking for it if you dont) update it

Use Your common sense,

This is true, in light to the inventor of the idea it is quite a masterpiece of construction, However skill like that shouldnt go to juvenile past times such as these ( tho he is probs making a load from advertising now ahah .)

The only fools that could fall for this trick would be the poor souls of kazaa :P

Or the ones still illegally P2Ping everything.

well i've got enough AV/Spyware programs and common sense to avoid/remove this should it ever happen so i'll keep on d/ling through p2p then:p (not kazaa)

btw before i get flamed i did buy HL2:upstare:

Solution: Don't trust self extracting archives from unreliable sources.

Question 1 : Who in the right mind d0wnloads a .zip movie?

Question 2 : Who in the right mind uses regular Kazaa?
