i think its pritty cool.. like the physics and gfx.. was wonding if there is ne way to say it ... i keep getting to the gient goat thing and dying and have to start all over again :/

I quote yourself: sigh.. i hate games like that. they try and make it clever but all it is some crappy little hole some were and you end up walking aroudn the same bit for an hour trying to find were to go.

You judged it before you tried it! You must pay for that *stabs you frequently*

I've only tried it for 10 min, because I wanna try it tonight where it's dark and where I don't get interrupted every minute...

Pretty good fun, but a while into the Palace level it CTD'ed on me. Annoying.

i didnt mean it like that i wasnt talking about this game, i just ment generaly. from what i have played of it it dont seem like that at all. i did say at the end ill soon find out when i play it :p

Ehh...
As was pointed out, the AI sucks. At first I thought the game could be scary, but the graphics are too strange-looking to scare me. I got bored by the end of the first level after killing 100+ of those zombie things. The enemies don't really make sense, but I guess they don't have to. And what is up with those weapons? The black/red screen powerup thing was kinda cool. It didn't seem as hard for me as people had made it sound.

I had more fun with UT2004 even though I'm not really a UT fan.

I played the demo...and here's my impression:

First off...I'll list the strong points.

Graphics are good. Not revolutionary or anything...but nice crisp textures and such.
Atmosphere of the game seems pretty cool to me
Physics are cool as always.
Big bosses are always cool
I like how every gun has an alt fire... even though it doesnt always make sense (Rocket launcher with a minigun alt fire? Stake launcher with a grenade alt fire? Kinda weird...)

I think AI is a bit too basic. All the guys do is just try to hit/shoot you...there's no strategy involved really (I didn't expect there to be much...it is a run & gun game afterall against zombie-like things...I don't expect them to use teamwork).

I think they could've made the alternate firing modes a little more related to the gun you have...

I also think that the soul powerup thing where the screen turns all dark showing bad guys in red should be your option to turn it on when you accumulate enough souls. I don't think it should just come on automatically. Too often do I get it right after a huge battle...when it's almost completely useless.

I plan to play through again and try to get those tarrot cards this time...because I have no idea what they do...

ahg im stuck... there is like a really big open bit with these 4 big guys with axes as hands, they dont wanna die! how am i ment to kill um

dont worry i figgered it out now :D

I find shooting them in the belly works best. They're tough as hell though.

I thinks the game looks pretty cool but....I'll wait for the reviews. Anyone else thinkin the same thing?

I still can't duck. I'm not waiting for the reviews... I'm just not buying it.

Psst Murray... you mean the Reaper from Perfect Dark? God the memories of that horrible gun still haunts me... :sniper: :sniper:

Is there even a way to bind a key that ducks? I can't find it anywhere, it's pissing me off.

k ive been playin the demo all morning and have been havin a blast. already beat it on nightmare, and ive got 3 tarot cards. heres some stuff that might help you guys out:

you go into demon mode after collecting 50 souls. so watch your soul count at the top of the screen, and make sure you dont pick up #50/#100/#150/etc when there are no enemies around.

the electro knife gun thing has 3 modes of fire, not just 2. hit both mouse buttons at the same time and it will shoot a whole circle of knives wherever you shoot and it will basically become a proximity electrocution mine. makes it easy to kill 10 guys with one shot. it does take a second or two to kill them, so make sure you lure them towards it. it does use up around 50 electricity ammo though, not sure how many knives.

you gain one life for picking up a soul. so if youre running low try to grab as many as you can. the red souls might give varied amounts but i know one gave me 6 life before.

to get the "bullet time" tarot card just complete the special objective for the first level, which is to use nothing but stakes. dont even shoot anybody while in demon mode.

you have to pick up gold coins to be able to equip yourself with a tarot card. so make sure to break upen all chests and pottery you find in the levels. level 2 has around 730 coins total in it so its pretty easy to get gold there.

thats all i can think of for now so i guess this is it. have fun.

bull... what difficulty?

Beat the first level, was actually really funny :D

It's a horror, funny shooter. :D Stake gun is FUN!

Bullet time, it just slows you and everything down automatically.

Playing at 1600x1200 no problems and very fast. (Full effects)

i think... if it has a coop multiplayer like SS then it will be worth buying because it will be really cool for lan partys, but we will have to wait and see.

has anyone played the big guy with the hammer... i was well impressed with the physics, main reason im playing this is to get a tast of what its gunna be like in hl2 :p

In Half-Life 2, you can duck... which is nothing like this.

ok i guess i should explain what demon mode is. if you guys saw that screen somebody posted where its black and white with all the enemies being red, thats demon mode. when you left click it is basically a 1 shot kill. and this applies for any difficulty.

I loved the press build, and I love this one too!
But for some reason I have to start all over every time I play, I finished the first map, I started the second (which is new, not from the alpha) and halfway through I got kicked back to my desktop. I started the game again and I had to start the town map again. But other people could select the second map through that ring in the selection screen, I could too in the alpha but not anymore.

But anyway, the game is great, the gameplay is simple but addictive.
Btw, about that third firemode, in the leak the stakegun was supposed to have a 3rd mode too, never seen it but it's said it was one shot kill in mp.
I'll probably get this game, great fun.

Wow this is brilliant, runs incredibly smoothly on my pc with great graphics, physics and gameplay.

The only bad thing i can say about it is you can't quick save and it doesn't save it for you, but in the full game i bet it will. I suppose the levels are a bit too long as well, some players might get bored before they finnish it.

yea i was just playin again and the stakegun does have a combo shot. you have to aim up and shoot a grenade then aim down a little bit and shoot a stake so that the stake hits the grenade. the grenade then sticks to the stake and sorta becomes a homemade rpg, but i guess it should be called a spg haha.

That's pretty cool.

Another thing I'd like to see is stakes hitting more than one guy. Many times there are guys charging at me back to back. If I hit the front one with a stake... I think it'd be cool if the guy directly behind him got stuck with it too. Both guys would be stuck together and just fall backwards or whatever...or they could both be stuck to the wall.

I actually got pretty bored of it after the second time through... It's too repetitive to me right now. I still wanna try the full version...but I don't think right now that I'm gonna buy it.

Bored? Never. Kicked back to desktop for a reason unknown? Every time.

The only level I managed to finish was the first one.

I'v finnished all of them now, the second level is damn long.

While trying to fight the boss creature i noticed that bunny hopping makes you go really fast, it's a bit like skiing in tribes.
