I was wondering if anyone here plays it, I do.

I'm buying my first gun, and I was gonna get a used Tippmann 98 Custom, is that worth it?

tippman 98 custom is one of the greatest and most popular beginner guns. Its durable and you dont need to clean it much ever.

I'm buying a Tippmann 98 Custom off vancouver.craigslist.org, and I need to know if $110 is a good offer to buy it?

I play, SN is Fierygoose on Paint Ball Nation, look me up. I shoot an Angel A1. But for a beginner go to PBN and try to get a deal on a used a5, better than a 98 and you can get one used for like 150 which to me seems like a steal to me. But 98's are good to for the price, it all depends on how much your looking to spend to get into this sport. Are you just starting or have you been playing for a while?

Well, Just starting. I live in Canada and Don't know what the hell PBN is, so bear with me.

And I have a very small budget, because I can't afford anything.

Paintball is an expensive sport; be prepared to show teh monnies.

I shoot a DM5 atm, but I'm looking for something new to shoot. (just sold my dark ego) :\

Yea, "PBN" is PaintballNation.com, you should check it out, everyones real friendly and would help you out far beyond my knowledge of paintball. But yea paintball can get expensive depending on how much you play and if you gun needs lots of repairs, which tippmans usually don't need. so you should be fairly okay.

Hey TC wanna buy my A1 I'm selling it? :p

I've decided to buy the Tippmann 98 Custom.

Now on to the general paintball chat!
EDIT: Woot, my 1,000th post.

You SOLD your dark ego and kept a DM????

Im currently on an 05 Ego, just wacked in a STAR trigger, makes all the difference. Was gunna get an 07, but tried one a few weeks ago at practice, somehow i didnt like it. Didnt even feel that much faster.
Instead i bought myself a PM7 as a spare/backup or when i dont feel like using an ego..dang those things are fecking quick for such a low price. Go Proto!

I play Airsoft, its a similar thing but in my opinion far better... for one, its cheaper! :D

I just made this video acctualy of me sniping - annoyingly the youtube quaility means you can't see half the kills, but the pistol rampage at then end where i take out 5 guys is pretty sweet :)

What's that an m24 socom?

I agree that airsoft is better and cheaper, you can sort yourself with a gas blow back pistol, spare mag, several thousand bb's gas and mask for around ?100 now.
Paintball markers seem to be like ?100 at the cheapest and you have to get annoying co2 refils.

Actually there arent that many guns or even sites that use co2. I for one certainly wont touch the stuff.

1- it freezes your skin and you need to wear gloves when filling bottles.
2- we had a co2 bottle blow (the reg anyway) on the way back from borrowing a few guns from a nearby site for our own, inside the car. The car immediately just filled up with white smoke and we almost flew into the ditch. AHhhh good times.

i used to have a gun, until the spring shot out of it while i was using the thing. I never paid to get it fixed so I kind of just stopped doing it. I remember the first and only time I went REAL paint balling, they had a bunch of games like capture the flag and stuff. One of them was a base and I was on offense. I FLEW around the side and ran into the place and saw two kids behind a wall. I opened up one them and might of shot about 15 rounds. I was so caught up in the moment i didnt think to stop :)

Hehe, you get Co2 mags for Gas Blow Back pistols. Like you say, it just isn't as easy to handle.

To me, airsoft and Paint Ball have generaly fallen into the same styles as FPS's. You get Quake 4 DM like games, and you get Operation Flashpoint type games. I personaly think Paint Ball, in the mainstream, is generaly liked by the Quake 4 DM type people and people that take up airsoft like the more OP Flash games. This is probably because of the replica weapons and the fact all airsoft sites i've ever seen or been to have camo for both teams (rather than a blue and a red boiler suite team - yes, you also get paintball sites that do camo for both sides as well :p )

Airsoft sites also cater a lot more for big theme days where you get literly hundereds of people with vehicles and the likes.

Don't get me wrong, yeah you can do slow paced and VERY tactical games with paintball (even the fast games you need tactics), but I just don't see it as often. Also, when was the last time you saw a WW2 paintball day? We have those about every month or two and its just generaly quite cool seeing everyine with bolt action guns and thompson in WW2 clothes.

In the video my sniper rifle is a VSR 10 Gspec (based on a M24): http://www.militaryfactory.com/smallarms/imgs/m24.jpg
My pistol is a 9mm USP Compact: http://www.hkpro.com/usp40compa1.jpg

Sorry for the Double post, but I was wondering if anyone is a paintballer in the Vancouver area?
