Pandemic is about what happens to you after our society breaks down because of a deadly disease. It's told through your own journal, as a flashback. You are yourself in this game.

I've finished an alpha of the second chapter of the first episode.

Yeah I've been working on that water for a while. I can't find a fix.

And funny, it looks different on your vidcard than mine. Mine shows it all covered in purple blocks.

One of the reasons this isn't the final version.
 
did you build the cubemaps..also my water tends to do that when i tie it to an entity or intersect it with a func_detail...
 
keep trying, I recomend that you dont realease a map that has messed up stuff in it.

It has to be tied to a func_water_analog so that the water surface can move as it must.
 
Very nice map I enjoyed playing it, took some screenshots along the way so as to be a proper beta tester :p

Firstly, the text was hard to read when the map first loaded, any way of keeping the screen black until the text is done?

First time I played it I used the valve straight away and kept killing the combine for a few minutes until I ran out of bullets and died :p
Can you have a sound play like a fog horn, if there is one, to signal that the water has gone all the way up?

The water wasnt that buggy for me, I have had the same problems in my map and cant get a fix.

Is if because there are different levels of water in your map as it says "There may be only one water level height in a PVS if the water is expensive." in the SDK documentation, I dont know what PVS is tho :p.

The table here flew out quite far after just touching it, maybe tone it down a bit if that is scripting going on there

Hard to see this, but in the room with the fire, it wasnt very clear where to go, I first went to the exit door and had a bash with my vrowbar but it didnt move, it wasnt until a few minutes later that I has a blast with my shotgun that it moved.

The water was fine everywhere else, apart from ducking in the part where it goes from generator rooms to a smaller enclosed place made me see through the map a bit;

Getting out of the water here isnt always easy, maybe lower the ground a tad. Also the ladders dismount ponts werent working so I had to jump off (same goes for the bottom) http://www.bthornton.com/images/pandemic/pandemic_episode01_02-beta510010.jpg

Health packs please! :D Could also use with a grenade placement incase you used up grenades earlier as they are a good way of getting the snipers without the crossbow.

Overall great work, cant wait for the next installments.
 
That's an excellent report switch, thank you very much.

I'd already identified some of those issues watching my friends play (I don't let myself say anything while they're playing - it's hard when they wander for 5 minutes in the wrong direction).

I'll implement most of these.
 
By the way, there are 5 grenades at the beginning of the sniper section, at the end of the blood trail leading away from the first dead guy.
