On Xbox though, but still it should give some idea of what the PC version is going to be like, considering they usually rate console versions higher then their PC counterparts.

8.0 Presentation
The save system has checkpoints in all the right places, the menus are clean and the cinemas are well produced. The only thing holding it back is constant drops in the frame rate.

9.0 Graphics
Easily the strongest element of the game, the visuals are impressive except for the areas that feel a bit empty.

7.0 Sound
Decent voice acting and punchy weapon effects. The dramatic music highlights climactic moments, but at many points the game is eerily quiet.

7.5 Gameplay
All the basics are here and the shooting elements are solid if unbalanced. Rail shooting segments and vehicles don't work as well.

8.0 Lasting Appeal
There are 18 levels of action, online play, and a map editor that really extends the life of this title.

Not that great a review for a game thats hyped itself up a fair bit. Especially when you take into consideration that Project: Snowblind got 8.8 on Xbox from IGN :eek:
 
Well.....
Maybe the PC version will be good.
I mean now that they know various things that are wrong with it...they could up the sound a little, and constnat frame rate drops shouldn't be as much of a problem. They could try and fill up areas more as they can put more stuff on screen at once.

I dun know..but whatever.
 
better review than I thought it would get, then again i'm thinking more along the lines of the PC version I played the mp demo for. (which I actually thoroughly enjoyed)
 
I'm only getting it to make my new computer run for its money so to speak.

For IGN 8.0 is not a good score. They usually throw ridiculous scores out. "I like this game whey 9.9!!"

So yeah, your right - I don't look forward to what others will say.

thats what i was thinking, maybe not a 3 :LOL: but a 7 or sumit, pczone gave it a low 80s score, 84 or sumit.

the mp demo ruined my interest in it, i'll just wait till june to get gta:sa and bf2 instead. :)
 
I think hl2 members reactions to the demo ruined it for me :)
 
I still have the Single Player demo installed. I think that's some kind of achievement... I've not had much luck with it mind you. First time I played, I got bored quick. Second time, I blew myself up without ever having saved. Third time, my PC froze after a particuarly hot day that made running the PC a little unstable. I'll push on with the demo, read the reviews and then decide. Frankly though, I don't think i'll be getting Pariah.
 
Im still getting it. Im not basing anything on reviews. Looks good and fun to me, thats enough for me to buy a game.

i probably would too if i had some spare cash, my game choices have to be considered wisely these days. need to save for gta:sa and bf2. oh yeah :sniper:
 
Yeah I've spent alot on games recently, if I had enough money to throw around I would definatley get it. Unfortauntley I have to be choicey at the moment and its either this or area 51 and i dont want to make the wrong choice.
 
It's a good thing I haven't really been holding high expectations for this game
 
I didn't have much hopes for the game anyway. There are other more interesting projects being worked on.

8.4 Graphics It looks good, but not great, thanks to slightly blocky architecture and lack of model variety.
8.2 Sound The voice acting is generally pretty good, although the R-rated profanity might offend some.
7.5 Gameplay This aspect is a little dated, sadly, and it's a little too easy, on the whole.
7.8 Lasting Appeal If you want a great game in this territory, I heartily recommend UT2004 instead.
