Anyone here like amusement parks and roller coasters?

Summers coming so I'm looking forward to going to Canada's wonderland for the first time in 3 years. Haven't been there since Paramount still owned the park. Looking forward to going on the Behemoth. Biggest roller coaster in Canada. Truth is I didn't get over my fear of roller coasters until I was 18. I had to work my way up. First it was the jr. coasters. Then the wooden coasters. Then the steel coasters with loops. Then I did the coasters you either stand on or your legs hang from.

My worst roller coaster experience was probably when I had a really obese guy sit next to me on "Vortex". Every time we went around a right bend his body would press against me and crush the life out of me.

I also want to go when it's really warm because I want to go to the water park. I haven't been on a water slide since I was a little kid. Water slides are my absolute favorite ride.

I'm thinking if I make enough money and have the time I may try to make a road trip to Cedar Point in Ohio sometime this summer. I hear it's one of the best parks in America.

I've only been once, and when I went it was a BLAST.

My grandparents own Drayton Manor Park.

**** YEAH.

i used to go every summer to Darien Lake near my house which was a Six Flags. now I just go there for outdoor concerts in the summer. but yeah i'm kinda done with coasters, they make me really dizzy now

I've been to Cedar Point some 11 times, Disney World and Universal once. Roller coasters just don't do it for me anymore... :\

I ****ing love parks.

Been to Cedar Point 5 times, Universal Studios once, Disney World once, Six Flags New England atleast 20+ times in my life, Canobe Lake Park 3 times, Seaworld 3 times, Cypress Gardens twice, and Busch Gardens 3 times.

I will never tire of them.
I'm going back to Disney World and Universal Studios for my birthday with my sister and some friends. :D

Is Disney World fun for someone who is 22? I went there when I was 5, but I remember none of it. The park seems to be for families with young children. Plus I have never been a fan of Disney. Even as a kid I preferred Transformers and video games.

I think at my age I would much rather go to Universal Studio's and Island's of Adventure or Busch Gardens.

Did you go to the Florida Parks or California parks?

Disney is still ****ing cool. I went when I was 15 with just my Dad and we had a blast.

Roller coasters are okay, not great, but not bad.

I think I like the water based rides the most, if I'm going to go flying around on a coaster, might as well make a splash while I'm at it.

Amusement parks aren't really as big in the UK as I assume they are state-side.

Last one I was on was in Tokyo Disneyland (against my will I might add) years ago.

Think it was that space shuttle ladida express or something. it was an indoors thing and pretty dark with some light showy effects?, I dunno, hard to remember for sure, all I remember was it was dark and seemed fast.

TBH I think it would have been more interesting if I could see the crazy ass bends it was pulling, I actually remember being almost bored, lol.

I got a photo with Winnie the Pooh though so it wasn't an entirely wasted forced excursion.

I have no ****ing clue.
Haven't been to Disney World since I was really little.

I'm just going because it's free and I always wanted to check out Animal Kingdom

It's just for a day, going to Universal Studios for a week though.

edit: This is all in Florida, btw.
Going back there to visit family and friends as well as celebrating my birthday.
I have no interest in Disney Land(the park here in Cali), going to be checking out Universal Hollywood and the Six Flags sometime next year though.

I like proper fast rollercoasters.

I hate the boat thing that swings back and fourth. That makes me want to throw up, with all the G forces changing and eeeeaaargh.

Cedar Point is awesome. Been there once, I want to go there again sometime.

Disneyworld is ok, but the rides ain't as good as PortAventura or Casa de Campo in Spain.

Used to love them when I was younger. After flying in stunt planes though, the biggest, "baddest" rollercoasters are LOLworthy. And you have to queue for hours for a ride that lasts about a minute. After paying a fortune to get in. Meh.

Still, I'd go if it were on the cards and I'd have fun. If the nearest theme park wasn't over 200 miles away. Methinks doing a trackday would be a hell of a lot more fun, mind. 170mph interactive rollercoaster FTW!

I don't care very much about regular amusement parks.

I adore water parks though. Would look forward to it every time we went to Raging Waters in California. Best place EVER.

I agree, water parks are a blast.^

My only fear is heights. Not that I'm not scared of other things in this world, of course, but I just have a phobia of heights. But I'm not scared of being up high, unless there is a dangerous ledge or something.

Plus I get sick easy from the movement, so I don't ride roller coasters anymore.

water park dropoff rides are terrifying

I end up at least going to our local "Worlds of Fun" park each year... it's never as good as when you had to stand next to the "you must be at least this tall" signs to make sure you could even go on it, though.

Haven't been to a water park in a few years but I'd agree they're probably better!

Oh God, I hate going up all of those flights of stairs for the tube rides and being so close to the railing.

I won a trip to Disneyland last Spring Break...
Other than that, there's a shitty park in Vancouver that is open occasionally.

I have never ever been to such a place or done anything like this.

I've been to tons here in the US. Six Flags America, Darien Lake, Hershey Park, King's Dominion, Busch Gardens, both Disney parks (if they count, one if FL and one in CA), Knott's Berry Farm, Universal Studios...but I feel like I'm missing some :D.

I've only been to a few amusement/water parks in Texas -- Six Flags Astroworld/Waterworld (when it still existed), Schlitterbahn which was pretty good, and Sea World. Never went to Disney World/Land since my parents didn't like to spend a lot of money on that stuff.

They were pretty fun although I also remember it always being miserably hot and crowded. I think my favorite rides were the one where you sat in a seat with your legs and arms dangling, and this stupid spinning one (not a rollercoaster). I heard that Astroworld had this really old wooden coaster that was actually scary to ride, but I never got to go on it.

If you mean the ones where you climb way up to go down a giant slide... I'd agree. I went on that once and I'm always paranoid that there's a little bump or seam in the plastic and I'm either going to go flying off the slide and splatter on the ground, or scrape myself really bad.

I went on one like that called Mayan Mindbender, except it was in the dark without any light effects at all. It was pretty boring.

Well, there you have it!, another TopGear TopTip.

For interesting rollercoaster rides, chose outdoor ones!. :)

I'm 20 now, and I always love going to Disney World. I usually go every other year or so, just went there last summer with friends for a week. I'm a huge amusement park fan, but I like theme parks better. I just love the whole themed world things, especially at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure.

But other than that I'm always at my local Six Flags America which is just 25 minutes away. Gets way too boring though...
