Would it be possible to set my PC on a timer to turn itself on at a certain time?

yea some alarms do that, go to bios and auto power soemthing, and on desktop install an alarm to run when windows starts

use taskscheduler. The only problem with it is that you have to actually have a password to be able to launch a program out of standby. You must set your pc on stand by at night, instead of shutting it down. I bypassed the password requirement by making a second local account on my pc, putting a password on it, and hiding it (so that I don't have the windows XP login screen). The scheduled tasks just points towards a winamp playlist that has to be run around 7 in the morning. If you don't understand a word I'm saying, use google. Good luck.

Thank you so much, that is exactly what I was hoping for!
I'm pretty sure I understand one or two of the words you said, but how exactly did you "hide" your second account?
