Perfect Multiplayer Shooting

Its: Sniper Central, Brutal, Physics in Motion
Its not: Very Different, Just a patch, For one night only

They also said they were a bit confused about some of the maps ported due to much better ones existing

There is also a complicated article on the Court Case between Valve and Our Mutual "Friends" Vivendi

lol dunno how they give it that high a score. its a bit unfinished yet :p

FFS why does everyone bitch about CSS, its a blast, Valve were working on anouther project you may have Heard of HALF LIFE 2, not CSS exclusively, they are making a large content patch for you, release in Decemember, they are releasing modding tools soon, they are making new maps, new models, Why cant you cut them some slack, not only have they got about 6 games to work on, they have Steam and are being taken to court by Vivendi. NOT to mention the fact they gave it to you for free with HL2!

lol dummy. i love CSS, i play every nite if i have time. Face facts though it runs like shit even on top range PC's. We got 3/4 of the maps we had in 1.6. Theres only 1 model on each of the teams. Loads of sounds files missing. Want me to go on?

Wow, sound files are missing, but do you know what, you wouldnt even know if they were unless you load the console

They are making 2 new skins tbr released in Decemember with 1 new maps and some more old ones ported

On the contary, CS Source runs like a dream on my PC, no lag, high framerates even on high res, on the other hand CS 1.6 is laggy as hell on my PC

That's all fine and good, but we bought a final version. Shouldn't that stuff be there already? CS:S was a port to the Source engine, yet we didn't get everything from CS. Sure, it may be enjoyable, but it's no where near final.

I am perfectly happy with CS Source, apart from I would like these maps

Stadium, 747 , Downed and Oilrig

Players models are coming soon, but I always go Navy Seal anyway so its not big deal to me

your missin the point.....the things are missing from CSS making it unfinished. And i play doom3 with no lag or slow down but in CSS it gets unbearable, and i really hate it because i really like this game :/

I never noticed, them, also it doesnt mean its imcomplete, it just means valve forgot to add them to the gcf, but they dont create any problems to they seem to be ignoring it

Heh. They called it a patch.

...That's because in a matter of speaking, it's not meant to be more. It's a port. It doesn't cost the price of a full video game either. Not meant to be much different either. 'Sides, 'course it's not finished. HL2 isn't finished yet either. I'm happy they gave it to us even in this state. It's still fun as hell, even with only 5 or so maps and one skin per team. Bothers me none.

none of us hl2.net members got a mention for kickin all there wee arses tho :hmph:

I agree with the score just cos its generally fun to play and most of the time a very friendly atmosphere n all that, it works alright on my shitty machine too

Ahahhahahahhahahahhahahahhahahahhahahahhaa.

That's funny.

Who wrote the review? I bet it was Craig Pearson :D

Teh argument is that it was suppoed "final" version. It is nowhere near that. As peopl have mentioned 2 models no bots few masp missing. If it was a dierect port it;s not finshed. need we go on.

Hehe, might've known. He's the biggest CS:S fanboy ;D

Heheh, I think we should get them to mention that our b33f servers are their local server! :)

Would fill em up for sure.

But more importantly if would fill them up with the type of cs player that can both talk AND read!!! :p

PC Spec? Driver versions?

Latest Ati Catalyst Drivers
512 MB Ram
Pentium 4, 3.06Ghz Processor with Hyperthreading
ATI Radeaon 9700 128MB Ram
5.1 Surround Sound, with a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Card
Windows XP SP2
17 Inch Flatscreen Monitor
576K ADSL Broadband

I think thats the main features

I have to agree, sounds like a complete fanboy review lol. Personally I think CS:S is great fun but if I was to review this as the 'final' version then it barely would make 80%. It's not buggy, it's playable but it needs a lot more content to keep us hooked. Of course the content is coming and CS:S will hopefully turn into something great but you can't review it on what it's going to be, but what it currently is, and right now it's nothing more than a tech demo that's a good laugh in short bursts. Come Christmas it will more than likely deserve its 91% if they give us some maps that make it a bit more than a two route coridoor shooter.

funny that people bitch about cs:s, if they didn't released it and hold it back until the hl2 release people would bitch about that too and be all like "who cares if there's only two models just release and patch later!!!"31231"

cs:s is for "free", stop whining and be glad they gave you something to play in the wait for hl2.

I dont know about you, but I spent money on both HL2 and CSS. I dont mind it too much, and it is far more polished than many games out there, but they did say it was done.

I bought HL2 for HL2. CS:S was just an afterthought that is now all-consuming. I play almost everynight. Yes it is not finished, but they keep pushing out updates so I keep playing. The maps have not started to bore me yet, and the gameplay although sometimes infuriating is compelling non-the-less

I bought Hl2 and CSS as a package myself with hard earned money no doubt so i expecting a "final" product even though Hl2 is not released yet..

i'm just hoping for a final product even though it is it's multiplayer aspect. Retail is selling for 49.95 (regular edition). Silver package is paying a little more for CSS. i don't care if the other original games are included I've already payed for those. (CZ cough! cough!)

css = hl2s mp component, so no, they didn't "give it to us out of their good will"... :cheese:

It's not free becuase we don't get HLDM or something else as the MP component thus you are paying for it. SO please stop with the "It's Free" argument when it's obvously not.

Oh and to all those whiny about slowdowns. I've seen CS:S run on machines much lower than the system specs posted above and run quite well.

You must also pay attention to the server and your settings as a client. LEARN TO USE CONFIGS PEOPLE.

its funny u should say that. i know about configs and rates etc. i still can't get it to run smooth. so far i bought a new mobo, 3200+ 64bit AMD chip, another 512RAM and thinkin about a X800 instead of my 9600pro. All for a bloody game :/

Counter-Strike has never been a final version. That is one of many reasons why it still after so much time still is the number one shooter on the net (by very, very, far). :p
