PC & Video Question

I'm plannin on buyin an AMD 64 PC (To replace the un-upgradable laptop I have) so that I can play HL2 and all that s**t. Will an ATI 9600 SE give me the cool water graphics and stuff it should have DX9 support at least right? I'll upgrade the video card later, but if the video card comes with the PC why buy a new one right away.

THe 9600 se is quite diabolical. It is not much better than a 9200 if i remember correctly. 9600 pro is probably minimum to run HL2 decently

the 9600se does support dx9.. but it's 64-bit memory interface and low clock speeds make it a sad little man. i would invest in a new vid card if i were you.

well yea I'll get a video card, but for a new PC that I found for around $500 with AMD 64, Radeon 9600 and all the other stuff...sounds like a good deal to me. I'll get a 9800 pro or wait until x800 or w/e gets cheaper.
