PC is the best for orange box, mainly because TF2 on a console is horrible. It's a tradition for half life to be played on PC that I can't break anyway.
The thing with HL2 is it's so damn easy you don't need to be hunched in front of a monitor twitching. You could lay back in a comfy chair with an HD TV and surround sound(provided you have those).
Depends on how good your computer is if you at the high end of the recommenations then i'd say PC. I plyed all of them other than ep. 2 on my computer and my xbox and liked the computer better. But I was happy playin the game either way. Just one problem witht he xbox though, the driving!! i'm not sure what went through their heads when they put in those controlls for the car, i can't steer and accecerate witht he same stick it really pissed me off during the strider fight too. I think the only reason i died was because all i did was drive into trees and then got stepped on by striders.
Yeah driving with the analog definitely takes some getting used to. I'm pretty good at it now but they really need to map the acceleration to a button.
I actually sent Gabe an email suggesting this.
Ok so I just got my new laptop and am playing HL2 on the pc again for the first time in a long time. The graphics seem to be sharper on the pc but the again my pc screen is less than half the size of my tv screen. The frame rate is much higher on the pc but it's almost to the point of unwieldy(I'm sure it will come back to me). The one thing that I truly miss on the pc though is the control of the grav gun. The two triggers on the controller are just great for using this weapon and the primary fire breaks supply crates throughout the series just like it does for episode 2. Also the Dynamic lighting is noticeably absent from the pc version. For those who haven't played the 360 version, you're in for a treat when the patch comes. Minus the mod support I think the edge may go to the 360 version at the moment but I may change my mind after some time.
