Pc Zone score box

First off UKchaos is a troll, secondly in the PCGamer review they mentioned several times how the Combine soldiers were able to work as a team and circle Gordon.

The A.I. does not suck! The A.I. in most of the game is to such a high standard that when it does go a bit stupid(as it does in most games) it really stands out. If you had a game with decent A.I. all the way through you wouldn't notice the stupid enemies as much.

You know I do think that developers should kinda lay off the graphics department for a bit and spend some more time on developing better AI, graphics are more than acceptable as it is but NPC's are just still too stupid.

Here here!! Quoted that for emphasis... .. . How about making a great game and not worrying about graphics so much?

I lost a lot respect for PC Powerplay with their score of 96% for Doom 3. That was ridiculous.

They'll probably give Half-Life 2 99%.

When does that review come out?

I've not got the foggiest.

And I still find PC PowerPlay more reliable than PC Games Addict... the Australasian wing of the PC Gamer empire...

I never knew people were so picky about their video game magazine  So who's the top-dog magazine around?

The PC Zone review 0wn3d the PC Gamer review, btw.

to clear a few things up - the pcz review's criticism of HL2's AI was that it didn't quite match the other improvements made over the original....so while it was good, it wasn't excemplary, while the graphics, physics e.t.c were a clear next-gen leap...

Coo'.

Doom 3 had competent AI- I don't recall it ever doing something massively stupid (except once when an imp began humping a stair rail. No, I'm not kidding). Thing is, Doom 3's AI isn't spectacular, and cramped linear corridors are perfect for reducing the scope for error.

So HL2's AI will no doubt be "better", but more open for disasterous mistakes and bugs, which'll be all the more noticable alongside groundbreakingly atmospheric moments.

Besides, when did you last play a game with AI that put all games available at the time to shame? For me, it was the original Half-Life. So I can believe Hunchback's explanation, thank God... won't need fanboy tranqs this time round.
