The thread clearly says: just because you got an email from Gabe, doesn't mean it belongs in the thread. System spec pimpz don't belong. The whole point of the thread is to collect info about the game and modding for it and so on. Not to pimp systems, and not to endlessly repeat the obvious, whether or not Gabe mailed it or not.

I just think its important that the mod community is allowed to thrive, without the hindrance of not being able to email certain valve officials. If someone has a great idea for a mod, but doesn't know if it is feasible, they would want to email someone to make sure it was ... before they spent a great amount of time on it. I know I would. I just want to be able to see some really crazy mods come out, that most people wouldn't have even thought were possible with source. I respect the opinion that some of you guys have though, and would expect the same respect given back to me, instead of rootbin and stone coming in here and trashing the thread. If you don't believe in what I am promoting, then come up with a responce that shows that, not just something that wastes our time and space on the forum, such as "you all make me sick everyone of you" or "etc, etc, etc. this post should die now." How intelligent is that? You could have stated why you think I should mind my own business or something of that nature. Just in the future, if you don't have anything important to say in this thread, don't say anything at all.

Good points, I think the people who ask about their systems fall into two categories though: 1) the people who realize upgrades cost money and just want to make sure they dont blow their hard earned cash on the wrong stuff (AKA the good) and 2) the wankers who just to brag, ie "Hey Gabe I just got a new P4 3.2 w/800 FSB, 1 GB Ram, 256 MB Radeon 9800 Pro, 1 GB HD, blah blah blah, do you think my system will be good enough to run this game?" (AKA the bad and the ugly rolled into one).

Quit being such an asshole, I've done nothing to provoke you and like the other guy said, a lot of the people asking already have HIGH END SYSTEMS, and tons of emails have already been answered that say the 9800 is a good card. Also, I'm not "kissing ass". I'm just trying to help the modders out here. What would be the point of kissing ass in some random forum anyhow. In one interview, Gabe said that the valve crew hasn't had much time recently to check the forums....
