Anyone ever gone to a party and seen someone from the past you really liked, only to find that they've gone completely off the rails? I went out last night, came back to someone's house and saw this kid I knew from high school; really great bloke, very intelligent. He was snorting some random shit in a corner, and he looked ****ed.

It really saddened me, I knew him all through school, really respected him. I kindof assumed everyone would go on and live really normal lives. A bit naive I guess, but watching him **** himself up was just weird. He was properly emaciated.

Anyone else had something like that happen?

He's an utter cock, and I hated every second I spent in his company at school. It couldn't have happened to a better person.

One kid I was good friends with when I was younger, become something of a bully during highschool. Was eventually locked up for Murder a couple of years after we all left, along with his brother.

Another guy, good mates as younger kids, didn't get on in highschool, similar story to Zerimski's got locked up for the same reasons.

One guy, complete arsehole, became a stuntman in some cheesy US style japanese movie a few years back

So called best friend back then who I since had nothing to do with, had a heart attack, isn't even 30 yet. Though frankly the shit he used to pull on his friends I couldn't care less what happens to him.

Infact I have nothing to do with anyone I went to school anymore, their either druggies or convicted criminals or just plain arseholes of the lowest form. I know far better people these days who are proper friends.

Yeah, it just kindof threw a lot of stuff into perspective for me. On the plus side, though, I got a phone call from this chick who used to be really into the harder stuff, found out how she'd turned her life around and is now retaking her A's in 6form

I know a lot of kids who messed themselves up. One kid was really smart and he used to be my friend. Then, he just started hanging out with the wrong people. He began doing drugs and breaking laws (vandalism). He eventually got arrested for fighting in public. I saw him recently and he looks like shit. ;(

I dont have anything that bad, but recently i have met up with some old friends who used to be high achievers at school, who know dont know their arse from their elbow, but also a girl who was my first crush who i never told her, 6 years on i have her email and i'm back in contact...hopefully this will have a nice ending? pray for me.

I had a friend a few years ago. You knew he was the kind of person that would have problems later in life, but you never knew how bad. He used to just pass by in school, but then his father died. That was a pretty big hit to him, understandably. After that, he just started doing worse and worse in school. He was always getting into shit with the faculty. He spent nearly every day getting drunk or stoned out of his mind. He started getting more aggressive and got into a lot of fights as well.
Finally, he said "**** it" and dropped out of school. That was two years ago. He said he was going to get an apprenticeship, but he's never bothered to do so. Instead, all he does is steal money from his mother and sell drugs. We'll see him occasionally (he's always drunk/stoned) and then you just really begin to see how pathetic he's become. "Wanna know what's ****in' funny? I don't have a ****ing job. I don't go to ****ing school. And I still have more money than you."
It's sad to see what's happened to him, but I try to avoid him as much as possible now.
