Perfect Dark coming to XBLA this March

Finally! It was supposed to come out last fall. I even grabbed the Perfect Dark theme while it was free.

Yeah, this'd be awesome. So far it's the first game I've wanted and couldn't have this generation.

Perfect Dark online and in high def would be incredible.

60fps is going to be great, i always remember that game as being a bit choppy but oh so good back in the day

Probably grab this for nostalgic value (not as much as Goldeneye but still~). Hope the multiplayer gets some love, been a while since I played a typical non-"realistic" deathmatch game online.

Quake Live doesn't count because I suuuuuck. :(

I could just about explode after hearing th...

brb showering

I was a big fan of Goldeneye - the main reason I got a N64. I had got rid of my N64 when PD came out, so I never played it. My friend had it though, and it looked awesome. I would buy this, but too bad I won't be able to, since I refuse to own a console.

Hay guys remember Perfect Dark Zero wasn't that game awesome

Hey Vegeta remember that time when you didn't ruin a good vibes thread

More stuff:

http://uk.xboxlive.ign.com/articles/106/1068824p1.html

- 1080p, 60 FPS remake of the original N64 classic. Character models that were originally 300 polygons now boast 3500, while guns have leapt from 150 polygons to nearer 2000.

- Like the original Perfect Dark, Goldeneye's three best maps – Temple, Facility and Complex are included, but this time out there's a special bonus; Goldeneye's weapon set is also being included, meaning that for all intents and purposes the game has finally made it to Microsoft's console.

- 4 players splitscreen vs 4 players splitscreen over live, 4 player splitscreen offline, Counter OP,and Co-Op both online and offline, 8 players online deathmatch.

- "Multiplayer's also been boosted, with all the game's original modes now playable with eight players online. All the split-screen options are also present and correct, available both online and off. It's more than a recipe for some nostalgic shooting – Perfect Dark's multiplayer is still so compelling that we wouldn't be surprised if it managed to oust some of the bigger guns at the top of Xbox LIVE's most played list."

- "Spartan and Duty Calls" Controller options , "It may not be subtle, but Halo and COD fans will know exactly what to do once the game starts."

This could not be more perfect.

If there were ever a reason to own a 360, this would be it. There has been no game for me that has surpassed PD's bot settings and overall customisation.

This is the only thing that has made me consider getting a 360.

"Perfect Dark will be $10."

How much is that in points? We pay different amounts here obviously.

Edit: Wait nevermind. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_points

Holy shit, looks like that means 800 points. I haven't seen many games with that pricepoint recently, let alone a high profile port like this.

It's so ****ing beautiful ;(

You can also play it in 1080p online @ 60 FPS without a 360.

Admins: this is completely legit, as long as you don't use pirated games
Admins: "Oh no, if only we could discipline this renegade maverick for linking to potentially troublesome material; alas, we are bound by our CODE OF LAWS and cannot. Oh cruel fate!"

Also, it's only 1080p in resolution, the textures/models won't match. Enjoy your horrible, washed out mess.

That is really cheap. I have like 1800 MS points left so I'll be picking this up most likely.

Woah, watching those videos took me back. Good times.

Totally making my little brother buy that on his XBL account.

I think a big reason Perfect Dark and Goldeneye were so successful back in the day is because, compared to today at least, the very small number of FPS games at the time. I also think a big reason these games were so fun to play was the N64 controller's near perfection for this type of game. I'm sure this game will be a nice throwback and seeing it re-textured and in 1080p will be a sight to behold. I just wonder how much of the luster will be lost after a few levels of play and whether the difference in controller will have any negative impact. I wish I had a 360 to play this on to find out for myself.

Only 800MSP? I had missed the pricing, oh shit, that's awesome! Purchased it now!

I just purchased Perfect Dark Zero for £2 in full knowledge that it is crap with the intent of playing it to hype me for this game. But this game has come out. So now PDZ sits on the shelf for the next year whilst I relive the joys of my youth with this.

And with Heart Gold/Soul Silver out in the same fortnight? Nostalgia ahoy!

It's good!

I forgot how totally unforgiving PD is - bots cut you to pieces with indifference as they charge through levels in a line, tooled up to the max and shielded while you scurry around looking for a decent gun. The cheapest camping tactics become valid survival methods and every win is victory of man over machine. So far i've played with one friend against bots on facility - on the weekend the 4 player slaughter begins :sniper:

Yeah, had so much fun in it yesterday.

Warbie, do I have you on XBL? I could use someone to play a bit of counter-operative with :)

Or possibly co-op on highest difficulty!

Sounds good :) It might take a few weeks before I can manage Perfect Agent again tho!

Anyone been able to find online matches? No luck with versus, but I've found a couple coop matches and the lag was horrible, which is saying something coming from me. :|

Just downloaded my copy :D Luckily had 900 MPs. An absolute classic this, would spend hourssss with my mates on it haha.

Had a chance to play it a bit, and it seems as though strafe running is out. If it's true, that's going to make getting some of the cheats a bitch to unlock.
