Perils of Summer Sale: Sunday Update!

Finally a decent sale.

Just bought Titan Quest Gold, Madballs, and the Freedom Force pack.(didn't notice it before)

To be fair, I do exactly the same thing. I'll moan to friends about how I don't have enough time to work my way through games which I've had for years and since this sale started I've bought at least 30~ games. I'm terrible :(

I'm doing the same thing. I'm looking at X3, Tropico, and Titan's Quest. They all seem neat but I'm not sure if I'm really in to any of them. X3 feels like Eve Online without the Online. Tropico looks like Sim City and Evil Genius combined. Titan's Quest is a late comer Diablo clone. I don't know if I need and of them, but I might get one. I would say X3, but I just got a thing in my e-mail to come back to Eve and get a free ship and 5 days free.. and it's great timing because I wanna do that whole planet building thing.

Who knows what I'll end up doing...

X3 is great if you have the patience. It's one of those slow moving but very engaging games that you can always come back to.

You'll also have to do quite a bit of research before you play if you want to live.

Well, yeah it does because I continue to wait for my chance to spend exorbitant amounts of money on video games.
Already owning the games that are on sale impedes on that opportunity. :frown:

The nature of a sale is unrelated to its appreciation by you.

True enough, however the X3 community is fantastic when it comes to helping newbies out. Here is the link to the forum that I use for help:

Its incredible, these guys compiled a MASSIVE 400 PAGE handbook full of tutorials and tips by all sorts of users. Here is the link to that:

So tempted to just buy Global Agenda now, it's getting really engaging and soon they are to unlock an open world

Titan Quest Gold just got bought. I liked the demo from ages ago.

I can't believe some of you didn't own Thief 3 already...

I have X2 and X3 already, but I always get bored after a few hours of running crystals back and forth. If the UI was like Eve's then I'd play it more.

I'm buying the Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom, for $2.50 you can't complain!

Thought about buying Thief because it was cheap, but I'm not a fan of having to sneak around, or anything that requires significant amounts of patience in a game. So I'll pass. Guess I'm not a very compulsive videogame buyer.

Does anybody know when on July 4th the sales (daily and ongoing) end? Like is the last daily sale from 2:00 pm July 3rd to 1:59 pm July 4th, or is there still one that will start at 2:00 pm July 4th?

Yeah, i got it too and i don't regret the purchase one bit. The art direction and music is quite unique for a game.
It's somewhat creepy yet hilarious. It's basically Braid meets Vaudeville.
I love it. I think that we can expect some great things in the future from this independent developer.

Sigh, I totally got the Bioshock quote wrong. Shows how much I need to play it.

I saw that they got rid of the subscription fee. Then I went to download the free trial and found out they stopped doing it for the time being.

Huh, I must have been lucky and got the last bit of the demo. DL'd the demo two days ago.

Damn, I was going to grab X3 Gold but they already put it back up to $30. :frown:

Is Bioshock worth getting even though I've had the story spoiled for me countless times already?

To be honest, I got X3 Gold, and found out that Reunion isn't as good as Terran Conflict. Reunion is just so buggy and TC is so much more polished, I'd just get TC on its own.

And I wouldn't bother with Bioshock if you've had the twist.

What the ****.
TC on its own is still $30! ;(

And fair enough, guess I'll just pass on it and maybe grab Bioshock 2 instead.

I guess sometimes last night they were like "OMG X3 TOO CHEAP" and bulldozed the sale.

Considering Prototype, but I feel like I should wait for it to get cheaper. Borderlands is very tempting. Max and the Magic Marker more than a kids game?

Crap deals, again.

****ing DOD:S, I knew I should've waited a little longer before buying it.

Prototype was kinda a meh game in my opinion. It was great fun for a few hours, but got kinda boring after that.

I know exactly how I feel about Prototype (it's not quite love, but it's a definite like) but it's not one of those games I want bad enough to waste money on when I don't have to. Anyway, I have 23.5 hours to decide.

thief is crashin when entering menu options

is normal that games that old crash a lot? or is for having vista?

Prototype is amazing for the first 10 hours, but once the zombies invade it becomes so meh.

Thief isn't all that old. I mean it's as old as HL2... I guess it could be considered old... but when I think of old games I'm going back to the 90s.

I don't recall it crashing but I didn't have a steam version or anything. I'd say check the Steam forums since I'm sure a good number of people bought it.

I was thinking about grabbing Borderlands but I'm not sure at the moment. I got so excited when I saw Star Wars... but it wasn't Battlefront 2 and I'm not happy. I hope they throw it in there tomorrow or sunday otherwise I'm just buying it for $20. I bet that was their trick all along.

Now we're talking. The Borderlands DLC's are off by 66% too. I am definitely getting all three.

I wonder if Sunday will just be a list of highest selling repeats like during the Christmas sale.

thiking about getting day of defeat but not sure

is good?

lot of people play it?

Wow at the Square enix Eidos pack. $586 worth for $75.

I got all 3 Borderland DLC's. It's a steal at that price.

If you want a classic feel, go with the Razer Deathadder. If you want to get the best bang for your buck, go with the MX518(you wouldn't regret it).

Not a fan of todays deals because I all ready have most of them, but otherwise still good deals for people who didn't get them yet

Weak deals today. I would get Metro 2033, but I have so many games right now I know I wouldn't play it immediately.

Edit: though everyone raves over Mount. Never played it.

Just download 3DMark when you need it. That benchmark comes free of charge.

I wish I could play Freedom Force but the demo never worked for me so... whatever. Mountain Blayd always looks classy but I dunno. I just want Battlefront to pop up... even though there's only one day remaining..,
