Well, I meant to post this the 18th (last Tuesday, I believe), but I had no time. Yeah, yeah... homework blues.

Anyways, I bought Project Gotham Racing 2 for the XBOX on the 18th, which was the first day the stores were actually able to sell it. It's kinda' weird, the stores all got it the 17th, but they weren't allowed to sell it then... only until the next day. Odd? I thought so.

I was a big fan of the first one. It was the first game that I actually got for my XBOX (at Christmas last year.) I must say that I was absolutely astonished and amazed by Project Gotham Racing (the first one)'s intense graphics, sickass music, and blazing speed (especially in the Ferrari F50 .)

PGR:2 has definately stepped it up. The graphics amazingly got even better than the first one, which I actually thought was damned close to impossible. One of the biggest improvements I'd have to say is the car damage. Now, parts of the car can actually flap (like a f*cked up hood or trunk) and some even fall off of the car, such as the mirrors and license plate(s). Glass also cracks and can break upon extreme impact. Sick stuff, man.

i'd never want a ps2, it cant handle nearly what an xbox can. Graphics on xbox games r much smoother and more polished than ps2. I dunno, somebody is bound to argue with me but oh well, i'm happy with my xbox and its online gameplay

Im not really a big fan of consoles, but i do have a PS2 and gamecube. I just got Need For Speed: Underground for PC this morning and its the best racing game i have played. I have been playing it all day customizing my cars out the izzle.

Yeah, I'm gettin' NFS:Underground tomorrow from a friend. Too bad it's the Spanish version, lmao. Is there any way to 'convert' it to English? He said he couldn't figure out how, and even if he could at all.

ya but u have to pay for the modem dont u, which is like 70 dollars or somethin. That gets a year of service with xbox where u can keep track of friends and stuff.

are u able to keep track of people u played in previous games with a friends list or something? Also, are there statistics and a ranking system against other gamers for certain online games? (if not i'm not asking these questions sharply to be a dink, i'm just curious cause i dont know)

With the PS2 online games, I don't believe that there's really any sort of 'sophisticated online play server / system'... at least nowhere near what XBOX has.

Goddamn, I just realized I sound like a spokesperson for Mircosoft, lmao. Sorry if I do, I'm just really excited about this game .

Hmm... see, people don't give XBOX's games very many fair chances. Halo was awesome when it came out, right? Yes. Halo 2's going to be awesome, right? Yes. Rallisport Challenge was gorgeous and fun (a little short and had low replay-value), right? Yes.

Okay, so not as many good games as PS2, but shit; how long has PS2 been out? My point exactly. XBOX's only just begun man. You'll see.

I own an XBox and a GameCube... and I like both of them.

... but I say this again:
Once Mario Tennis is released (hardly any information yet) there will be no choice.

Everyone will be forced to sell their PS2s and XBoxes to buy Gamecubes!



On a more serious note...

The reason there are more games for the PS2 is because Sony won the battle of the market share by beating MS and Nintendo to the punch by a year (something Nintendo vows to do with their next console).

If you want to make more money you make a game for the system with the most users... the PS2.

If you want to make a better looking game you use the most powerful system... the XBox.

The Gamecube is somewhere in the middle of the road... it is cheaper than the XBox but still more powerful than the PS2.
It has a larger demographic than the XBox... but not as large as the PS2.



The problem is that the developers would rather make more money than a more impressive game... so the XBox and Gamecube get neglected.

It's too bad that money is more important than advancements in technology (as seen all too often in the USA).

well.....i do have a specific reason why i bought a ps2. I dont really think a ps2 is better than an xbox....or GC


There are not many good racing games for pc...... Ps2 came bundled with GT3....and i had played GT2 before it ..and even GT2 was(and still is) better than 90% of the racing games on PC.....so i had to have it becuase i love racing game(wich are alot more fun on a console anyway from my experiance)

Pcs are many times more versatile than any console....but it used to be that games would only come out on one platform. Now thats changing with all these new cross-platform games... thats good and bad at the same time.....

good becuase you dont have to own every differant peice of hardware...

bad becuase we have things like halo...wich was awsome on xbox(from what i hear) ..but is a joke on pc......and then theres the Deus Ex 2 demo.....a game that looks like it was made for xbox..and PC as an afterthought. ....and is dumbed down for consolers....missing almost everything that made the original such a geat game....with stark lack of detail....

i think we will be seeing more half-assed games in the future.....(even though 99% of all games are already half assed)

Man, if you own an xbox get this game. It's been keeping me busy for almost 2 full days now and just can't... can't stop playing it. Been a long time since I've enjoyed a game as much as this, last time was BF1942 which I just couldn't stop playing...

I had the original. It was an "OK" type game. Maybe I'll have to rent this game and try it out. I heard a lot od good stuff about this game. IGN gave it a 9 something.

i just returned the game from rogers like half hour ago, i loved it. Online play is so intense, i'm gonna buy it really soon, if not, get it for christmas. Recommend it to anybody who like cars, its really easy to learn too.

I've gotten up to the "Roadster series". Most of the time I've been playing against my brother and been online which is quite fun. Sometimes it's really serious driving with the ferrari's and then it's a bit of relaxing and bumping into each other with the mini's. I'm not a really good driver, but still enjoy the game... :cheers:

One of the best things with PGR:2 is Nurburgring, my first lap was 7:25 with the Enzo. I'ts wild. Then i tried the 911 GT1, yes i completed it on silver.. That car gave me a little lower time. 7:03. The circuit is so long that i can't remember every turn.. it's probably a good enough reason for many people to buy this game. It was for me! I felt my heart beat when i read that it had Nurburgring. The truly greatest racing track of all times(in my mind).

OMG I <3'd the Nurburgring courses. All of them kick f*cking ass. Especially with the Enzo!!! Tonight I will have all the extra bonus cars except the TVR Cerbera (spelling?)... which will take... well, a month at the least? Lol.
