Poor Phantom Console


Those of you who go to [H]ardOCP should know whats going on in the picture. The guy with the mallet is Kyle Bennet, hes one of the guys that runs [H]ardOCP. He finally got lucky and obtained a phantom console and decided to unleash his anger on it, this is all going on during Quakecon.

The reasoning behind the smashing of the Phantom is Infinium(Makers of phantom) tried to sue [H]ardOCP for giving out false information about the company(Even thought it was all true information). This is just a little payback against it.(I believe that is all the whole thing went on)

You can already tell the Phantom is going to fail, with the bad reputation Infinium is getting right now and along with the fanbase of [H], word will spread very quickly of it.

the phantom itself has probably one of the worst designs i've ever heard of, i mean it's meant to download all these new pc games and be more conveniant to play for home console owners.......but it's equipped with an mx440.........

alright.....how insanely dissapointing is it to see a screenshot of far cry, see rave reviews, and be all hyped about it, only to find out the thing in your living room you spent 300-500 dollers on won't even play it.....

Reinventing the wheel doesn't seem like a very good idea. The whole idea of a PC is that you can upgrade and expand it, anyway.

No, normally they have specialized/custom parts. Where as the phantom is just a plain old PC sold off as a gaming console.

He smashed it because the company that makes the Phantom threatened Kyle (the HardOCP guy) with legal action after he put up a article outlining the Phantom CEO's dodgy business history. There's more to it than that, obviously. This is just a condensed account.

Intialy, they wanted to make a console on wich you could play all other console games(like Trillian:E), but as the project developed they understood that it's not very possible, so they stopped on PC games only.

I was reading the tech specs.. it has 256mb ram and a 5700 FX. Dont expect to be playing to many games with that lol.

when your playing on a low resolution tv, i think you could expect to play just about any game.
