Photos of new Star Trek film

It's a bit silly, it looks like they've filled a galaxy class starship with pre-schoolers, sure they'd put SOME old people on board, the guy playing kirk is too young.

The ship's interior looks like it was designed by Apple. I honestly don't know what to think of this.
JJ Abrams may be a good producer but i am not exactly a fan of his direction. Even though MI3 wasn't that bad, i still have my reservations.

It sure as hell looks like a very different take on Star Trek. Whether that's for better or worse will depend on the actual film's merits.

It doesn't look that bad, it is a reboot of star trek after all.

haha
hahaha
ahahhahaah

This has to be a joke or something. A bunch of 20 year old pretty boys in space is not Star Trek ffs. well, yeah actually there seems to be only one pretty boy:

Don't tell me that gayboy on the left is supposed to be cpt Kirk? and the elf or whatever that is on the right looks like he's in the wrong movie. because i refuse to acknowledge him as Spock.

the "elf" looks like spock ..I mean really how can they screw that up? it's just pointy ears and a bad haircut

From what I've heard from people who've seen chunks of it the film is quite decent.

from Wikipedia:

Chris Pine watched classic episodes and read encyclopedias about the fictional universe, but stopped as he felt weighed down by feeling he had to copy Shatner's mannerisms. After being cast, Pine sent William Shatner a letter, and received a reply wishing him good luck.

Quinto pursued the role (of Spock) as he was interested in Spock's duality (the character is half-human, half Vulcan), and was also fascinated that he is constantly exploring that notion of how to evolve in a responsible way and how to evolve in a respectful way. He bound his fingers to practice the Vulcan salute, and shaved his eyebrows and grew and dyed his hair for the role. Quinto commented the physical transformation aided in portraying an alien.

Well, now I already feel bad for making fun of them. At least they're trying. :p Who knows it might turn out to be a decent film and the budget is also pretty big, $150 million according to wikipedia.

Also, turns out that an absolute catastrophe was closer than I thought:

Adrien Brody had discussed playing the role with the director before Quinto was cast.

he would've just ruined Spock by making the character an autistic and sensitive artist or something equally silly.

Yeah, Sylar is the only thing about this movie I have confidence in. And that is not Kirk in any possible way, shape or form.

I'll be watching this mainly for Pegg and Quinto, but even so, I think it looks pretty cool anyway. I quite enjoyed the latest trailer.

Hyped. Not as much as I should have been. Must watch, though.

Seriously, I think he looks just like him, except maybe a little prettier. Not as gaunt.

The only thing I'm worried about is Kirk...I mean, Kirk is William Shatner is Kirk, yanno what I mean? Everything else looks neat though and I will be there midnight showing in my red oldschool star trek uniform dress :dork:

will anybody answer my question pretty plz.

Yes, it's a complete reboot.

This has as much to do with the original 1960's series as the new Battlestar Galactica does with the original...

I heard that it wasn't a total reboot? Oh well, just as well it is, cause it sure doesn't feel like Star Trek.

There may be some time-travel involved actually, Nimoy is listed as "Old Spock" in the cast.

The whole plot is about future Romulans visiting the past and messing up the timeline isn't it?

That's what I've heard. With Future Spock trying to help the newbs save the day.

*sigh*
Prequels and Romulans. The two things that have always worked in the Star Trek franchise.

As some one who doesn't watch Star Trek and knows only the most basic things about Star Trek, that looks pretty good.

He's in the cast list, it's kinda obvious.

Probably. I think I'm going to remove myself from this thread and leave myself as virginial as possible for the movie.

Glad i'm not the only one who thinks this.

Also that weird spinning ship in the trailer, does anyone else think time ship?

Oh man, Vegeta, post #6 had me in stitches for a full two minutes.
