Photoshop Rule Discussion Pole

Hey guys. As many of you may know, there has been a discrepancy in the rules as to whether or not you should be allowed to vote for yourself. I have posted a pole to find out what the general art community thinks.

Take note that the rules are set in stone for this week though, so don't vote for yourself!

Also, please do not start any flame wars over these rules. If you have an opinion on this subject, post well thought out points in relation to your opinion .

I dont think it should, if one is pie worthy, it should'nt need the maker's vote to win.

I see how this would be a problem if the only people voting were the artists themselves. However, in the last contest we got 41 votes for 16 entires. So the fact that are artists voting for themselves doesn't really figure into it.

Also, I don't want to be forced to vote for somebody else just to see the results.

One vote can make make of break a competition. If you honestly believe your work is better than the other entries ( and no, just cause you enter a competition doesn't mean you have to be biased ) then you should be able to vote for it.

Politicians vote for themselves too.

And also, if you make a random poll, you're allowed to vote in it too.

The thing is if you allow self-voting then even people who know their's isn't the best are gonna vote for their own "just to be fair"...

So I say no self voting. Because I didn't vote for myself last week, and i only just lost. And if self voting is allowed i WILL vote for myself whatever, just to be fair... along with everyone else. Or maybe the rule should be compulsary self voting, so there can be no arguments (this goes with the argument about politicians... they ALWAYS vote for themselves)

My vote is compulsary self voting to make it fair, or failing that no self voting at all.

I'm going to try to remain impartial since I'm sort of moderating this thread, but let me just point out that for the first 6 weeks there was not even any mention of such a rule, and all of the contests went fine. Many people know their entries aren't up to par with the rest of the entries and so they vote for others. And for the 'loners' who don't have very good entries, and vote for themselves anyways, they won't likely get any other votes so it doesn't matter whether or not they voted for themself.
