considering what Valve has done for the mod community, i'm sure they could easily give it to mod developers as a patch after the game comes out. After all, without modders we wouldn't have counter strike of sven co-op now would we? they did and will do alot for the mod community so i'm sure if we ask them nicely and not get all cranky, they would let us have it.
