Sorry that i already posted this in the general gaming thread, but i think that this little nifty program needs to be spread around more to the public. every man, child, woman, and pet kangaroo needs to play with this physics simulator, and i'm trying to spread the gospel, but the general gaming thread just doesn't get enough views...

http://meqon.com/downloadarea/downloadarea.php (second one down, 1.8 meg one)

This thing ROXXORS!!1 it is the most fun i've ever had with 1.8 megs, and i believe every fan of physics in a game needs to see this.

Post your appraisal of the awesomenemity of the program here.

Also, if you know of any other cool physics/small game demos, by all means post em.

Holy crap!!! THATS AWESOME!!!!!!! Geebus thats fun!!! Thanks for the link!!!

Procedural walk is BRILLIANT! You can create characters and pull them back, knock them over, smash them into one another or throw balls at them (which they will try to catch!) all will flawless non-animation. It's so cool to be slowly dragging one of them back when he sudenley starts running but he can't get anywhere so he falls to his knees and gets in the way of everyone else. :D

This thing ROCKS! Any games using this physics engine?

wow i had really fun with the physics pretty neat stuff

thx bro :p

*EDIT* check that other game out aswell thats even more fun =)

valve should contact them maybe they could help each others

This is cool. I just played box stack thats it right now. ITs fun taking one off, and tossing it full force into the pile! :bounce:

Omfg This R0xors

go on scaffholding and press 5 as much as possible... GIANT BALLS!

*edit* go on limb controller, grab his head, and make him do cartwheels and sneak like so,lid snake!! he he!

wow thanks for this, great fun!!!!!!!!

May not be as fun as it might be with half-life 2... but god, this is fun! I could never get tired of physics.

Hehe that's ace! I love physics demos :D

Man alive, the little game demo (the jeep) is awesome!

yeah the jeep owned :p..if only games had those kinds of physics

Anyone do the jeep demo? The thing is nearly impossible to flip over (and keep flipped over)

That's pretty cool, I saw something similar as a java web applet a few years ago but it was much less advanced, could only handle a few objects.

I want to try some of this stuff out in Source, I heard valve say they would consider adding particle and fluid dynamics in a later patch, that should be cool too.

The coolest one so far has GOT to be the box stack for me. The pyramid thing. Look at this! Everything reacted JUST the way I expected it to!

EDIT: its also lots of fun to pull the scaffolding apart by using the mouse and clicking and dragging. It reacts differently if you pull slow and forceful, or FAST and sudden.

EDIT 2: See? I pulled the scaffolding down on its side without busting it apart!

Very cool. I'm impressed. Espically for the size.

Holy F*CK! Thanks for that link, kept me entertained for quite some time.

if these small demos entertained me for almost 2 hours....hell I can't imagine how long I'll stay tuned on HL2...

The cloth demo is cool, it looks really real (although it seems to go really fast on my comp :/)

LOL. using this 'magnetism' trick, I can really mess up the water!

http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/6619/Insanewater.jpg

Anyways, the trick to this is to Click to hold an object, then right click. That object will now be suspended in midair. It will never ragdoll, but you can fling it around using the mouse. If you click on another object, the magnetized object will SHOOT towards that object, and if you right click the new object, it'll now be 'linked' to the first object. You can keep doing this to create massive clumps. Its kinda fun! :D Especially since it makes propelling things much funner. Go into the block stack one, take a block out, put it away from the stack, on the ground. Magnetize it, then click another block in the stack. *ZOOM* *CRASH*

lmao, I have been saying that all along. (See my sig, its been there since.... well for ever.)
where do you think i got it from? :)

the jeep thing is pretty sweet, but my shadows are kinda messed up :(

Have you got shadows on everything? If you stick it on dynamic objects only it is ok

Heheh, thats pretty damn cool dont you think. I mean its customary for people to take quotes and put them into sigs. Put you took my sig and quoted it! :D

Cheers!

The 1.8 MB set of demos is like the little games you sometimes get off relatives at christmas, with the metal balls in and you have to get the balls on one side or resting in divets. Oooo they are fun. Really they are!

Oh! Guys! I dont know if you know or not, but you can push f8 to go into slow motion!

wow, glad to hear you guys liked it. I had loads of fun with it, and what is so sweet is how you can have so many objects react to eachother with virtually no slowdown.

Farcry, you should take a lesson from this demo.

anyway, HL2 will probably be better simply because you will be able to interact with the physics in so many more ways, instead of push, pull, and throw balls at stuff. but the thing is, that demo is just a physics demo for producers. if they like it they can implement it into their game. So, if valve had implemented this instead of havok, it would roxor just as much. and valve could have changed around the physics as much as they wanted...

...whoa...that looks ****ing SWEET!

On the slowdown however... when using f8 it seems to change the physics somewhat. I know this, because with slowmotion on in the scaffold demo, shooting the huge ball, it won't even break all the way through and beyond the scaffolding! lol... its even cooler that way though.

yeah i noticed that. normally the 5 ball just plows right through it. but in slow mode, it just breaks through 1 wall, but still it looks awesome.

These are amazing.

And did you know "P" pauses it? Very cool.
