Seems like it's quite a ways off, and I wish it would have been this year... but since I've been anticipating this game since 2002, It's nice to know it's around the corner. Preorders go on sale later this month.

Is January 22nd a long way away? It sure doesn?t feel like it to us! But if it does to you, consider picking up a preorder box when they go on sale October 23rd. Besides getting a soundtrack CD to get you in the mood, you?ll get exclusive in-game weapons and an in-game parrot for your shoulder.

I know there?s another question you want answered. Yes, we will be doing a very large-scale beta when we?re closer to launch. Far more people will get a chance to play than ever have before. There's a stress test this weekend, I got me a key and will be checking this out.

Two-week headstart??? That's an insane amount of time for an mmorpg. If Lord of the Rings Online have given people two week headstarts, there would be Level 50's on release day. But I'm guessing "Pirates" is a little different.

Has anyone else tried this? Is it worth it? I remember there being a thread about the two competing pirates mmo, but I can't find it.

I was hyped about this game, I got in the stress test and I'm disappointed with it, it just feels like EQ2 but less to do, the battle system is cool but the town atmosphere, trading and NPC interaction is really dull. I'm trying so hard to get into it, I'll play a bit more tomorrow.

Nice graphics though for a MMO.

I don't like the way that guy looks at the children, but that's the cool thing about pirates: They do nothing wrong, and in their case, it's ok to loot, so... yeah.

I've heard way too many mixed things about it that I don't know if I should even give it a try.

I haven't touched it since the closed beta. I doubt it has. It went f2p for a reason.
