As one of the first things i tried on HL2DM, I tested the infamous pistol glitch or the Secondary Fire Glitch.... which seems to still work.

For those of you who do not know of this, here are the steps:

1. Press and hold down Primary Fire.
2. Then, at the same time, right after pressing down Primary Fire, press down and hold secondary fire. (Both buttons should be held down now).
3. You can move about but do not release either button for about 7-8 seconds. Then release your Secondary Fire button on a victim.

This releases whatever is left in the clip at hand. It is an instant kill shot if all bullets hit desired enemy. I would say the bullets release at like 40 rps, so they fire quite fast(much faster than the SMG).

I tried it once and it didn't work. Maybe I just wasn't paying attention/holding it long enough.

It works, I was getting like 38 kils straight just from using this over and over again. Probably considered cheap, but I consider it a stategy.

Yeah it works. It's just like a magnum except worse. I wouldn't worry about it.

It's an exploit, not a strategy. Once Valve realise it's there, they'll remove it.

Gonna cry?

It's fun and no one knows about it.

I don't see how my post indicated that I was upset. Besides, I haven't even played HL2DM enough to be affected by the bug.

Use it if you want, but don't expect it to be around for long. If you ask me, you'd be better off honing your skills without it, rather than becoming reliant on it for frags.

Eh, I guess the "kick" another client was posted on these forums and then about an hour later Valve updated the Source Engine. Possible similar results?

I find it odd how it works, it delays the fire untill it builds up into a burst. Then once you let go of the delay, it fires all bullets.
ITs almost asif its intentional.

How do we know its a bug? It seems like its there on purpose to me. The long you hold it down, the more bullets you will fire.

I love my physgun. Nothing except an RPG can beat me!

How badass would the be to nab a rocket out of the air with the manipulator and toss it away? THAT would be a million times better than tossing grenades back to their owner :p

That...would be extremely badass.
Though it would really suck if everyone would do it every time you had the RPG Launcher :(

Yeah...but it could be really hard to do or something. Those rockets move pretty fast.

I'd also love to see a Specialists style mod and the bullets are actual objects when in slowmo or something. You could go all "Neo" on them and stop them or something. I gotta have my slowmo.

YOu can do the same trick with the magnum. It's a bug.

What's the point of loading up 6 magnum bullets unless you want overkill. But is the magnum thing true?

No, you can't do the same thing with the magnum. I tried it.

thats how ive been getting most of my kills. Giving someone a headshot with 18 bullets is satisfying. The technique i uses is if the first blow doesnt kill them then pull out the smg.

Well, you have to fire 1 out of the 18 before doing the burst.
So really it's only a 17 bullet shot to the face. :D

...but I guess it's just as deadly.

I CAN SHOOT THAT FAST without the glitch
*cough*mousewheel*cough*

Even with that theres no way you can shoot 17 times in >1 second.

OMG LOL!!!!

i just pwned sum e-z killz on a server lol it was hilarius!

Maybe its because i select the pistol by pressing the alt fire, but still i never had to fire a shot b4 doing the burst.

It seems to work for me, to press and hold the right button, press and hold the left mouse button, and then release the right when I want the burst. This works consistantly for me, and seems to charge at the same rate that the bullets would fire if you just held the left. Sort of like its queueing them up. And yeah, its pretty cheap. I hope it gets fixed soon.

As a side note you can aparently grab the energy orbs from the pusle rifle, if you are acurate enough. With the lag its pretty much random chance, but I saw it done.

WhiteZero - no, you can fire all 18. It's a little harder (sometimes you think you've held the RMB, when actually you haven't, so go to kill someone and only 1 bullet comes out, as normal).

It's pretty cheap, very good for stopping rocket campers though (and defending it, for that matter).

Yes, you can pick up the energy balls, I've done it twice and killed people with ones they shot at me. I've also tried practicing shooting my own, swapping to GG and picking it up to use again. I've managed to shoot and pick it up once, but releasing it and trying to catch it again never worked (tried about 26 times). Also if you hold on to it for too long it explodes, doesn't injure you though. It has a pulsing noise that it makes, gets closer together and very high pitched for about 1.5 seconds before it explodes.

So unfortunately it doesn't look like you can shoot one and then use the same one 3-4 times to kill other people. Still can get 2 uses out of it though, or steal someone elses (very tricky).
