After playing source for quite a while now, i have noticed quite a considerable difference between the pistols in 1.6 and source. What's your favorite pistol and why?

It's mostly deagle/usp for myself, deagle can be awesome for one shot kills and the usp just owns as it's much more versatile and has more bullets. Not a great glock fan...
 
Yeah, I get too nervous sometimes for the deagle, and I don't liek to spend money on it always, so I often stick with the defaults.

My preference lies with the USP due to it's accuracy and damage, the Glock seems a bit random at times for me, you can be jumping and it will hit, and you can be crouching and it will miss. Great for rushing though if you can nail the hs's, as once their view goes sky high you've got them.
 
I sometimes just buy a pistol like the deagle and go blow some heads off, then steal a rifle or something, but even if I get a rifle, I'll still use the pistol because its just so damn cool :)
 
Yeah, i love pistolling it aswell sometimes. Better accuracy, i find sometimes in matches we do better in eco...
 
Deagle or USP. USP for pistol rounds since you don't need much power to kill someone, and deagle for rushes when I've joined and have no money.

Been using the glock recently though.
 
none of the pistols really work for me in rushing, except for the desert eagle, if i actually kill someone with a pistol, im usually camping... besides the desert eagle.
 
P228 or USP. Both have a good ammo/damage level. P228 has more damage but also more recoil. Usually i stick with the USP.

I think it sucks that the T's have a shitty default pistol compared to USP.
 
I always buy kevlar and sec. ammo in pistol round as ct
and buy usp, ammo, and a he grenade when t's. The glock is a master of the old 87/8 and other BS damage like that. :x
 
you know, it'd be really cool if you could use a welrod.
 
love the deagle, hate the glock, and dualies for shits and giggles :)
 
I prefer the 5.7 - good damage, good accuracy. I don't really trust the Deagle.
 
Deagle, Compact if I feel silly, and Burst-Glock.
 
i ♥ the MAC 10 and the Steyr TMP. if you see me, you'll prolly find me using that if it's possible to obtain it
 
i like the glock when im T. Everyone runs around with the deagle. So i get kinda bored with it.

I usaly just stick with the defults and buy armor and ammo.
 
For me, I use the the default pistols everytime (Glock, USP) for the first round. While I've been whoring with the Desert Eagle lately I'm also using the Dual Elites, Compact and Five-Seven
 
The Dual elites feel really random to me. Sometimes I can run through a map and mow everyone down with auto-firing them, and sometimes I take time and aim at someone's face and fire a shot and it misses.

Glock on burst fire is also VERY random. The times I'm glad I had it off burst because otherwise I wouldn't have killed, yet the times when I got a lucky long-range headshot with one are few and far between.
 
Yeah glock burst is best for short range, I've gotten fairly quick kills by my lack of aim and just aiming anywhere with my crosshair somewhere in the body, usually the guts.

That is true, I've had similar instances. I think the Elites are like the AK. Short bursts will most likely hit but spray and you'll be lucky if you hit them. Trouble with the Elites is that they're to weak to kill in short bursts unless you get one or both bullets in the head.
 
glock can own if you have a good pistol player put three shots in a person head at close range. and i have also played people who are insanly good with the deagle. but i love glock and the terrorists are my favorite team
 
I kinda like the Glock, it has decent power but it's really fun to use plus it has 20 in its clip to make up for power.

The Deagle pwns, I like it for quick killing, I also kill someone with it and jack their rifle.

I don't really play CSS becuz my graphix card sux, I'm gonna play more when I get a better one, I got Radeon 9200

Hate the glock. Feels like you're firing a peashooter, leaves you feeling somewhat impotent imo....

im a deagle fan just for the devostation it can cause but ive been saying this for a while and i doubt i will ever see it but a fully automatic glock would be so cool they are very random and inaccurate but still none the less very cool
 
rofl @ all the glock haters ... the glock is such an ace weapon in both 1.6 and source, i am a 1.6 boy meself, yet when i play either i'll grab a glock, stick it on burstfire, and take out any poofter with a deagle ;) :p
 
I don't get it isn't a glock supposed to be automatic? It's the only automatic gun. wtf?

Glock on burst + close to enemy = pawnage.
 
usp, tho i gotta admit glock on burst fire is great for ambushes.
 
I disagree with all of you. The glock is one of the best pistols in the game. In fact I'm much more effective with it then the usp. I do agree that it's underpowered but it definately isn't random. All you have to do is learn how to aim it properly, and then it owns. But even the way it is, it is a HUGE improvement over the 1.6 version.

My old CS name used to be "glocked". Too bad, because then I'd have to go around glocking people :/
