pitch black skybox...

I'm trying to make a pitch black skybox to give it the effect that the map is floating in the middle of no where... I found a texture called "black" and try using that, but it seems to be causing some leak... And I do not want a 2D skybox, because there will be a teleport to the skybox, which only allows knifes in... That will be cool for other players on the normal map to watch 2 big giants battle it out with knifes. :p

To make a map you must first make the sky yourself, you cant just choose a textue that catches your fancy. So you need 6 (front, back, left, right, up, down) black textures named accordingly. Type sky in the texture browser and then you should see what I mean.

Once that is done you can use the normal toolsskybox texture and then sppecify your sky as the sky for the map and voila!

I'd actually just use the 'black' texture and brush in a high ceiling. It doesn't matter that the skybox is "2D" because that specific texture doesn't show depth.

That works for you but since he wants the big 3D skybox "to watch 2 big giants battle it out with knifes" the toolsskybox texture needs to be used because otherwise ther will be no giants in the sky
