On the below-mid section of the gunship there what appears to be some kindof eyes, similar to that of a bug.

Having grown up an American in Europe, I can assure you, we've suffered far more offensive lampooning over the years at the hands of europeans. The difference is we don't take ourselves too seriously, and spend more time making fun of ourselves than anyone else.
