Planetside 30 day free trial

Most MMORPGS offer a one month trial when buying/dling the game, this isn't something strange.
 
Just a warning, Planetside is really fun for about 30 days depending on how often you play. It seems like there is a lot of freedom and space to explore. You will soon realize how repetitive and boring the gameplay is. The developers seem like they had a vision they never really recognized.

By the way, the expansion pack "Core Combat" is aweful.
 
I suppose you have to enter you credit card details just to get it ;(
 
If money wasnt a problem, i wold probably play planetside, even if it sint that great.
 
I enjoyed the beta, but never really pursued it further... I hear it's improved alot since then, though.

yep, i agree 100%. i cancelled my subscription after a month but i'm still being charged for it. sony keep ignoring my emails as well. ****ing wankers.
 
I also had the same problem, I signed up for the free Necron time and at the end of the time you have to cansel your user or you will be charged (they do this too get abit of cash from people who are late in canseling) and there Canseling site DID NOT WORK, so I had to email them 3 WEEKS LATER I got reply saying my users gone offline, well ****ing great buddy, I only paid your ass for a month of the game before that happaned.

Planetside is not worth it imo, gets boring VERY fast (within afew weeks..) Plus you need a godlike comp to run it, swg is worth the money though, its so kick ass imo
 
Anyone here "play" PlaneShift?
It's still in early alpha (combat and monsters and magic to be added by the end of the year! Yay!:) ), but it's free, and it defiantly has massive potential!

MMOG's are a waste of money...


Game = 50$
Cable/DSL ISP = 45$ Monthly
Subscription for MMOG = 15$ Monthly (15$ seems to be the norm now-a-days)

Spending 15+ hours a day so you can get the magic light caster with super force hit points!

I whole heartedly disagree, I think MMOG's are the future of multiplayer gaming. I just don't think the potential of Planetside was ever fully recognized.

I don't play RPG's at all, but I normally join clans in FPS multiplayers and end up chipping in for things like game servers, voice servers, and website/forum maintenance. If someone is serious enough about online gaming, they're probably willing to fork over $10 - $15 bucks a month for a consistant server with built in voice support.

Think of it like this, you're spending $50 on the game content, and $10 - $15 on the costs of the server farm running the game. It works out.
