So, I bought a bronze package (HL2+CS:S). I saw the "register a product I already own" and gave it a try with my old HL cd-key. I then got a message saying something like "package upgraded to platinum" (not really sure it was platinum though :farmer:).

Wooohooooo!!! This is great, I was able to install HL and lots of mods, even if my old CD is totally unreadable. I do love Steam.

My question is, first, is it really a platinum package, or does it have another name?

Then, I see HL:S in the "coming soon" section of Steam. When I double-click it, it sends me to the purchase options of Steam. Does it mean I won't be able to play it after the unlock? Just a bit worried :upstare:

The Platinum Package is more or less the back catalog of Valves games, Opfor TFC Half-life Counter-strike and a couple others.

you should have just bought Silver package :P then you would have gotten all the fun :)

So... What I get is HL2, CS:S, back-catalog... but no HL:S? Oh ;(

Maybe later I'll be able to update from Platinum to Silver or something... :( Wouldn't want to pay too much just to be able to play HL:S anyway...

Hi i put in the cd key for my BlueShift game and that also put me up to Platinum package. I was just woundering whever it is free to play the games because HL1 is on there and thats the full game, and also can you put mods on and other stuff on it. Thanks for any help

If your Platinum pack's similar to mine, then yeah it's free for all of Valve's "back catalog", and yes mods can be installed, too :cheese:
