Playable techdemo out in Aug

Wooot spoke to my friend couple of hours ago his brother writes articals and reviews in a well known polish pc gamer magazine, in the next issue later this month there will be a preview of HL2 where the new "techdemo" is tested and it will be out just couple of days after HL2 has gone gold :D
 
Well, as much as I want to believe you I can't. There are just too many people that make this kinda shit up. Sorry. Its nothing personal.

Have you got any kind of proof?

I hope a playable techdemo is released before the game ships, but I really have a hard time believing it.

OK guys you want proof wait until the 22th of july when the mag get's out, other then that I don't really care what you guys think flame me I don't care. He's my friend and he is true HL2 fan boy and I belive him 100%. If it's a techdemo ore what ever you guys whanna call it it's up to you put there will be something playable HL2 material just couple of days after the game has gone gold.

Especially considering before now all signs pointed to it going gold in august, and now you're saying 22nd of July.
 
Assuming you're telling the truth, we shouldn't assume Valve are!! When was the last time Valve actually met a date they issued? When they say August, it means nothing.

August will come and go and there'll be no techdemo.

Well, I sent an Email to Gabe, hopefully i'll get an answer.

Now all we have to do is play the waiting game.....
 
Problem with your statement Proddan, is that you don’t have anything back it up with, so people won’t believe you off the bet like that. Plus you picked a touchy subject to be joking about, and all people here will be skeptical until they receive e-mail from the Gabe.

Yes, anyone can come in here and say "My brother's uncle works for Valve, and he said Half Life 2 is coming out tommorow". Some proof would help ;)
