Played Brawl last night, first impression...

At first I thought I liked Melee more, but now I like Brawl way, way more. It's a much better game.

One thing I'm a bit bummed about is how many stages and characters you start off with. I liked having nearly half the characters and stages locked in the beginning, but now it seems like there's only ten or so of each.

Basically I just really like unlocking things.

All in all, amazing game so far.
 
Just played with 2 other friends.

I got it, played singleplayer for about 20 minutes, turned it off, and did something else.

Then some friends came over unexpectedly, we all played for around 2 hours.

Was great
 
I loved playing the first one, but that was also the last one I played. Don't have much of a reason to get any more.
 
Dammit... I want to play :(

The Wii belongs to my cousins though... my brother bought it for them. And they don't even have the net connection to play it multiplayer. Sigh.
 
Anybody seein' either Wii consoles or SSBB cartridges in stock anywhere?
 
I picked up Brawl at HMV. They might have some there, since most people would tend to flock to EB Games or Best Buy for their video games and wouldn't think of looking in a music store.
 
Luls. I pictured the box in my head so the word disc didn't come to mind. I was born under a NES so I can't fix that habit.
 
I picked up a copy at BestBuy on tuesday, stock was plenty. It's still in it's packaging plastic wrap because I promised my cousin not to touch it until he got it. This waiting sucks but luckily only until tomorrow!

Have you seen the codec call for him? "Hes mastered the power of darkness by constantly living in his brothers shadow ". What the **** is this voodoo shit.

**** when you pick luigi even the announcer is like "LUIGI?!?" as if you've made some horrible mistake.

Also, I've found im pretty good with Olimar and Wolf. Olimar is really different and you can't play him like you play any other character.

With wolf, his B attacks kind of suck compared to Falco's and Fox, but he makes up for it in his smashes and tilts.

On that super smash bean bag thing... I found out that gannondorf is awesome for that... The best I've seen. His super smash gets 35%, so him and another gannondorf get 70% on the first smash. You beat it up a bit more and then whack it with the bat and we got the beanbag to sail 1970 feet. It was epic!
 
Luigi is the worst character ever in all the history of Nintendo, period.

God damn, WARIO IS BETTER THEN LUIGI.

Snake, however, does kick ass. Sonic sucks, though.. He is very weak.. I like Sonic in his games, but not in this one..

Luigi is one of my top 5 chars to play actually :)

He's just hilarious to play and I really like his side-b attack.

Wario is a very strange character in Brawl. He has such amazing recovery. He probably has the best air control along with his motorcycle jump and his up-b to recover.

Also, does anybody know if his fart attack (down-b) charges over time or based on damage dealt/taken or what?
 
I don't mean as characters in Brawl, I mean just as a character in any game.

Luigi is Mario's half-retarded brother, and he's completely useless.

My top 5 chars in Brawl would probably be:

1) Snake (He kicks ass, especially up-special for when you get launched)
2) Captain Falcon (I don't know why.. I just like playing as him)
3) Pit (I can use him really good for some reason..)
4) Ike (Same as Pit.. I'm just good with this guy)
5) Fox (He's quick, I like that. I like Falcon for the same reason, too, but Fox shoots faster)

That's why I like him. His smashes take more time, but are more effective. His mine is great. I feel like I can hide 10 feet away from a fight, setting up an explosive combo.

Sonic's ok, wants you get past his novelty he seems pretty meh. His final smash is so ****ing cheap though. Arg, I hate it.

Also, Luigi's my bro, lay off.
 
When you play multiplayer, you can't have more than one person on the console at a time? :(

I tried to join in with my cousin and play online with random people but it's not letting me join as player 2.

That's really lame.
 
You can only have one player per console when playing against random people. If you're playing with friends it can be any combination of local and online.
 
Alot of the people who tell me sonic sucks, are playing him the completely wrong way. You cannot play him like you normally would any other character. Sonic is incredibly reliant on you just playing mind games with your opponent and just being there at every opening possible. I've had some matches with people playing as sonic pull off some mindblowing shit I didnt even know he could do x_x
 
I don't know what to say except it's addicting. I hardly play against others, I played with my friends and cousin like a couple times. So I occupy myself trying to complete challenges and collecting all the stickers and trophies(love the coin shooter, it's like a XBL arcade game, except for SSBB) and unlocking all the characters. I haven't found my main character, i'm really breaking into the couch of the fighting mechanics in the game, mainly figuring out the intermediate and advanced stuff like combos.

Subspace makes me mad everytime I play it yet it's addicting and it's also longer than I expected it to be.
 
My friend plays mostly as sonic and he's a god. I like playing as Dedede, and I can hardly touch him. Not only is he fast, zipping the **** around everywhere, but he has mastered shield and dodging.
 
Yeah, sonic is amazing if played right. Really theres only one rule to playing him and that is keep moving. All over the place zipping in and out mixing up your spins and what not.

they say his speed is lower but his power is the same
anyway
i have SSBM and i love it
not many want to play with me cause i go all out on my fights and they think its not fair....bastards
but i think Brawl would be awesome as hell

I just won two multiplayer matches in a row with him. One led me to sudden death, and I smashed his arse immediately!
 
Captain Falcon has to be unlocked. He's slower than he was in Melee.
 
Got a taste of online last night. Specced first, looked like there was a lot of lame players, then I gave it a shot and got my ass handed to me, mostly by this one guy that never seemed to miss like he wasn't affected by the atrocious LAG.

Ninty needs to set up some damn servers.
 
Yep, online is pretty much a waste of time right now thanks to all the lag. I even went though the trouble of setting up a static IP for the Wii and forwarding all these ports to it but got no improvement. In-game at least... I mighta been getting games faster or it might have just been the time of day since up until today I only played pretty late.

Working on gettin' all the rewards now... got the 100 man melee ones (Bowser!) and the cruel melee ones (Lucario!) earlier. God, that cruel melee... aptly named, aptly named...
 
One thing is for sure, this is much more brutal than Melee. SP on normal has me cursing at the screen. Some of these enemies are WTF ridiculous.

Had my first few friend matches with the ONE person who is not awaiting registration. It had a couple moments of extreme lag, I'm guessing a de-sync, but for the most part is was pretty smooth. Landmaster ownz me.
