Player base

Hi I am contemplating whether to buy DOD:Source or not and would have to say that player base is basically #1 on my list on how I'll determine to by it or not. So basically that is my question, are there a good number of DOD:Source players? Comparable to CS how would you say DOD:Source measures up in terms of numbers of players?.

Kind of depends on where you live too. For me, most servers lag because I have to join servers from further locations 'cause no one really hosts a server in this area, or that it's usually empty. So it depends on where you live.

Doesn't seem like that many although I'm checking this on a Thursday afternoon, maybe I should check that link on a weekend. Anyway, I think I will be getting the game because I loved the original and its so cheep I don't think there is really a loss.

I'm quite surprised how many vanilla Counterstrike players there still are. Wowz. Its not really off-topic to mention CS because if you think about it, someday some of those hardcore counterstrikers will move on to probably CS:Source and possibly DOD:Source. I guess its surprising that not everybody would like to play the newest games out there. But I guess the fact that so many are still playing the older games assures me that purchasing Dod:source will have some life in its future, possibly 3 - 4 years even from now because some of those players may transition over.

How on earth are there more people playing Condition Zero than any of the DOD games? Argh.
