Player profiles

Hi, I have just bought the game. I and mu son are going to play it, but I can not figure out how we can both play as I can not see how we can create two different profiles. When I try to load, I load into my son's game. Is there is something I am missing? Thank you for your help.

Either you just keep track of your save files, or you copy and paste a saved Steam/SteamApps/Usename/Half-Life 2/HL2/SAVE folder everytime you want to play.

Won't I overwrite my son's saved files? As I understand Half Life 2 does not allow different profiles? That is very weird. Do they limit the game to just one player?

If you copy away your sons files before you paste your own, no.

HL2 allows many save games, you'll just need to differ between them. You can't name saves in HL2, that's the only problem.

Yea HL2 has a shitty save system.
There's no profile system so you have to do it manually, and you can't name your saves.

So what you could do is make three things on the desktop: A shortcut to the save dir, a folder for your saves, and a folder for your son's saves, and swap the save files around as you take turns playing.
