When i play DVDs (movies) on my computer, a few mins into using the dvd the screen freezes then the computer freezes for a few seconds. Then it comes back and i get an error from ATI Catalyst saying there was a video driver error or something like that.

I've tried to play it in Windows Media Player and Power DVD XP and it does the same in both.

Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

My computer:
Pentium 4 HT 2.66GHz
ATI RADEON 9800SE 128mb
512mb RAM

Thanks.

You might need a DVD decoder software/driver thing (if it didnt come with your power dvd software).
I have a free one that works with Media Player Classic, but for some reason not with windows and if i attempt to play a dvd with windows i get freezing and then an error.
Then again it might not be the decoder as you do have power dvd and its an ati error, but i dont know... ati do their own decoder, it might be something like that.

I don't think i need the DVD Decoder. I should think that Power DVD XP has one with it.

Any other ideas?

Try turning off the ATI VPU Recoverer in your display settings.
