PlayStation Move - first pics of their motion-controller dildo

Nintendo crap belongs in the toy isle,at least Sony will make more serious games then the Wii has.

They do throw a lot of shit at the wall though, some sticks

It pretty much all stuck.

Oh and a lot of these innovations would have come around in spite of them if they didnt bring them first, four button face is practical and they researched comfort in the hand.

The point is they innovated first. Other companies could have, but didn't have the foresight or the know how.

You dont see me crediting Sony with cd medium games or interchangeable memory, it just happens to go like that

Why not? - it was a good move on their parts (despite the horrendously slow and frequent loading times!).

Can't argue with such a well reasoned argmument as that

Actually, there was already a motion controller for the Gamecube, but it wasn't successful. Nintendo decided to base the Wii around it, which was a risky bet, but it obviously paid off big time.

Most first party games on the Wii are definitely "serious games." The are a few "serious" third-party games, i.e. Metroid Prime and Monster Hunter Tri.

Why so serious?

Nintendo introduced analogue control
I WILL EXPOSE YOUR LIES, NINTENDRONE

N64's CONTROL STICK WAS DIGITAL

BEHOLD, THE TRUE FIRST ANALOG JOYPAD

In the end Sega submitted to Nintendo and now they have this:

Who one that console war again?
In that particular war? Sony. Saturn never competed against the N64, and the N64 wasn't even a worthy opponent to the Playstation.

And in the following 'war' the Dreamcast, despite being the superior system, simply faded away. It never even went up against a Nintendo system.

The last time Sega and Nintendo would meet on the battlefield was Genesis and SNES. I don't know why you're bringing up the console war. Begone, you ignorant bystander; I only argue about the console war with General Warbie of the Principality of Nintendo.

Yes! a Nintendo luver! Ive been looking for one of these(not too hard)

Nintendo innovates the same way a kid with knex does, slap a ton of extraneous blocks on a substandard structure and see if one of them rouses their parents. They are the big supplier of gimmicks and like i said, they pretty much spent the salvo in the NES era and even before

> Implying that any controller since the early 80s was truly analogue.
> Rageface.
>implying that there haven't been potentiometer-controlled analog sticks since the 80s
>implying there haven't been any in this generation
>implying you can greentext

The whole point of my post is that it's a stupid misnomer.

Can you have an infinite range of values from X/Y? No? It's not analogue.

N64's CONTROL STICK WAS DIGITAL

I did not know this! Oddly it's N64 games that strike me as being the better examples of analogue contol - or maybe they were just implemented better? Devs today seem either lazy or ignorant when it comes to analogue - we either get two speed hold a button to run of PC games or something floaty and crap like Uncharted. I haven't played something that works better than Mario 64 (that includes Galaxy)

Ok, that battle is yours. Nintendo gave us the thumbstick then ;)

Nintendo innovates the same way a kid with knex does, slap a ton of extraneous blocks on a substandard structure and blah blah blah blah blearghhh

The games and the consoles say no :p

After having played Super Mario 64 for the first time four days ago, I must say you're definitely looking back with nostalgia-vision. The controls aren't bad, but they're definitely not as smooth as Galaxy.

Maybe not as smooth, but when it when it comes to moving from a tip-toe to slow walk, fast walk, jog, run etc it felt more responsive to me. Or maybe my thumbs have got heavier with old age. I'll revisit to be sure!

I personally can't wait for this. The E3 demo of it had me sold.

Those pics have been around for ages though.

Your quote made me laugh and thus makes it impossible to come up with a scathing comeback.

:imu: Nintendo Nintendo Nintendo Nintendo YAY

I could give you my love, Warbie. But I suspect the only thing you really desire is Nintendo, you tease me

Im amazed anyone can seriously plug in an N64 game nowadays and get a good reaction from the stick, mines loose so it constantly tries to move my character left, and it probably doesnt read at all like when it was new

Oh get over it, all they do is make gimmicks with shit support, and unless you wanna play their major franchises, all the games suck
But the thing is, I really like the major franchises. I've never played a Zelda or Mario that I didn't enjoy.

I'll give you that. I've taken my pads apart, removed the grit and greased the thumb stick sockets umpteen times. It's pretty easy untill a tiny spring shoots off somewhere ..

Hey i do too but i dont see the point in keeping up with them, certainly not buying a Wii for, they dont change much. I played Spirit Tracks recently and it was the first one ive really played since I played OoT, but I could see how it kept the dungeons similar, basically i could play LttP if I ever felt like picking up the series and not mind. This isnt because of the controls, which were shit, I would also call them gimmicky

I don't like characters that make appearances in several games. I want something new and different. Interesting ideas. Not really a fan of lore either, for that reason.

On the other hand, what's the difference if Mario and gang is simply swapped out by different characters? Nothing really, so to start - you can make a different ****ing game, with completely different ideas.

Unfortunately, it seems the name of a product is just as important as the game itself, due to of the brand recognition.

Mario is kind of immune. I mean "Jump Man jumps on shit" can take a lot of variation because its just a platformer(not even including spin off games) Metroid and Zelda are more advanced but more like the previous edition

Hey, if it's not broken, why fix it?

This thread is starting to remind me of a bad stand-up routine in the middle of a Heckler's Convention.

Although I'm not a zelda fan (SHOCKER I KNOW) I really do think that Mario and Metroid are timeless, and the only crappy spinoff is the olympics one. GOD that is a bad game...
Apparently the new metroid game has a fully rendered Metroid 1 or 2 (SNES or NES, I forget) endgame cutscene, which I'm happy about :3.
