Yeah i wouldn't have said anything about it if i were you, Sico. It is just a really old untested version of the game, a lot of the stuff you could do will be changed in the final version.

But there's no way killing civ's will be 'impossible.' I mean, what about Grenade splash damage? That would get them. And, i'm sure valve wouldn't make you lower your weapon ALL the time when you are aiming towards a civ. That would hinder battles with civ help a helluvalot. Trying to shoot a combine, civ runs by and you lower your gun...that would just be retarded.
 
LOL! I can't wait to pick up bodies and throw them at my enemy. It sounds like the manipulator will definitely be the funnest gun in the game, if not, the funnest gun in the history of games.

I don't know if this is intentional... (doesn't seem like it should be), but when you mouse over on this topic in the general forum view (the listing of all the current threads) you can read the text that is normally hidden in a spoiler tag. So, if someone moused over, and didn't know there was a spoiler tag in the beginning, they could accidently read a spoiler... if you understand what I'm saying. This should probably be changed, if at all possible.

No manipulator on bodies unless they've been tagged to be able to be manipulated... and shooting civilians wouldn't be anything new...

The bit I find funny is that people call it the "beta". It's not a beta.

Half-Life 2 only went beta recently.

I may even be confused - it may only have reached alpha.
 
Well, you seemed to know what you were thinking when you titled the thread "don't ban me." If you know something is wrong, why do it?

Also, I'm not sure it makes much sense to edit someones post and then NOT edit the responses to it that describe the information that was censored!

Well, they are probably in beta by now, or not far off. It is important to note, however, that developers are different in their description of what beta and alpha phases signify. For Valve, it apparently means a polishing/last-minute-minor-bugfixing stage.

Heartily agree with you here. Many people forget to modify all the posts relating to illegal topics, mods included (although its hard to do it quickly in a long thread).

Sometimes people need to just use common sense... The "spoiler" revealed wasn't really a spoiler, you could do it in HL, why not HL2? One is always skirting the law when talking about the hacked alpha, no matter what it is.

oh.. no wonder i have no clue what is going on...... the information is no longer up there.... well i am glad i missed it all the same.. i would hate hear something i didn't want to know

I only said beta stuff cuz people say they are worried about not being able to shoot civilians and not being able to pick dead guys up, I want people to have faith in hl2
