PLEASE help me to get the physgun mod working

i have been trying to get the physgun mod working on and off all day and its driving me nuts, i have extracted the files to my hl2 directory, then i added the "-console -game jbmod" command to the launch options and when i try to start hl2 it just keeps saying "gameinfo.text doesnt exist in jb mod"

i have tried putting the command line in on my desktop shortcut and it does the same thing, please can someone help me

You're extracting it to the wrong folder. Extract it to Half-Life 2, not Half-Life 2/hl2.

i have it in:

C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\neil_jb\half-life 2

As long as you extracted the JBMod folder there (So all the stuff is in C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\neil_jb\ half-life 2\JBMod), and then you're short cut looks like this

then it should be working.

i fail to see what relevance this thread has to my question, if you were trying to be a smart ass pointing me at one of the other physgun threads then

1) get your links right
2) i already looked at all the physgun threads and my question has not been answered

People being ****s about "repeat posting" are ****s but hey, thats life.

I've been trying to get the physgun working, I've read several other threads and this one helped me out the most (I think I see what I was duing wrong now too, we'll find out soon).

I personally found people telling me to sod off and search for info annoying when I had one post, two, ten, one hundred. It's a far greater waste of precious forum space than people repeating questions. Remember, people come here hoping for help. Some don't know about the search function (though if they post anything remotely similar to a previous post they're soon to find out).

If you guys are so stressed about wasting threads on repeated topics, don't waste space telling people to search so rudely. Perhaps, tell them nicely, they're often new and it aint very welcoming. Also, it makes you come across like a stuck up c***.

EDIT: Though to be fair, Crabonhead may have got the wrong thread, but he was hardly rude in his attempt. Crabonhead, I do not think you a stuck up..... yeh

I was not implying because I had more posts I was anything. I was pointing out you have been here two days max and have contributed ZERO to this community but you are making demands and attacking people. This is a community site. There is no obligation to assist you when you cannot follow instructions.

Your registration says DEC 2004 either you just got here or you lurked for X days... but either way you have contributed zero.

That was my point. Just as you can't seem to follow the 5 threads that contain simple instructions you can't seem to read what is written as opposed to what is assumed.

As far as the better person crap... not even going to humor you because that is totally out of the context of this thread.

my first post was a polite question asking for help, not a demand, i use many different forums and dont take smart ass reply's from people in any of them

ironic isnt it that a fellow "worthless newby" actually answered my question and solved my problem without even the slightest attitude problem, and i thought the planet half life forums were full of immature smart ass kids who would sooner talk down to someone than help them out
