Hey,
I just got a whole new computer that i built. I got an Intel MOBO with PCI express 16 (better upgrade now...) and to go with it a new ATI Connect3D X700 256MB video card. So let me get down to my point. I turn my computer on its all good. I play half life 2 for about 3 hours, all good. then my video card starts going crazy!! ive tried uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling, ive tried using older drivers, ive tried using beta drivers and nothing seems to work....Ive attached some screen shots to show you guys what im dealing with.
Any help welcome!!!

well it might be overheating, dload ati tool and lower the speeds to see if thats the problem, also have you tried switching to dna or omega drivers? i had a similar problem and switching fixed it

yeah i have lowered the clock speed and i have switched to omega drivers but it still is messed up. Ive tried calling ATI but they never give me a technition to talk to i end up waiting and waiting

probably a messed up card, i guess you could try reformating?

my 9700Pro does the EXACT same thing. exchange the card immediately; from now itll only get worse and never go back to normal.

How do i exchange it??? I can never contact ATI!!!
Heres another screen shot.

Maybe just try reseating the card in the motherboard... Take it out, maybe even blow on it 8-bit nintendo style, and put it back in. Oh yeah, make sure you turn your computer off first ;)

I have same problem but its that bad I cant play half life at all;graphics have white & grey squares/triangles all over screen. These are flashing rapidly.sometimes it stabilizes and I get proper image but it is mostly unplayable. In another post it was recommended to turn on vertical synch which worked for the original post member.i have tried latest nvidia drivers 66.93 &v synch on / off no success.Maybe turning on v/synch will work for you?
I have p4-540 3.2g processor 6800gto video(pci16 express) 512ddr2 ram 160 gig stat hd.

V-Sync has nothing to do with that kind of glitches. It's most likely a faulty card, overheating or a driver problem hum.. or the PSU. This is what I would do: reinstall the new drivers (don't forget to use driver cleaner). If it doesn't work, return the vid card. What are the temperatures of the case/CPU/GPU?

Looks like what happened to me today, my card wasn't seated properly and the power cord was off of it a bit....re-inserted the card, and it worked.

its a driver problem for me, had same problems and i got some 3rd party drivers, well dnas, and it worked great
