PLEASE i need help fast, about a laptop!!!

hi, this guy at work is selling a laptop. here are the specs. i dont know much about laptops, but will this run games like hl2, cs:s wow, and farcry??

he is asking $800, is it a GOOD deal??

It would run those games pretty easy. Although I'm not sure at what detail.
Maybe upgrade the ram with another 512MB if it has a free slot but it looks good.
$800 is typical for that kind of notebook new (except with crappy graphics). Not sure how much notebooks cost that include a good gfx card (6800 notebook version). So i'm not sure if it's a good or bad deal. :O

What size is the harddrive? Does it have a dvd burner?

dam, cause i looked on ebay, and almost everything with a 6800 was atleast 1000 after shipping. well the first thing i was gonna do was upgrade the ram.

anyways is the 1.7m a decent processor? thanks

im not sure if i should ge tit, or just wait for one of those dell deals with the 7900 for around 1,000.

The Intel (both Celeron and Pentium) M @ 1.7GHz is a good CPU for a laptop. Pretty fast and doesn't use much power. It might be similar to a 2.8-3GHz P4 for performace.
Keep in mind notebook GFX cards are not the same performace as the same version on the desktop. But I'd think the 6800 would do well in those games at 1024x768.

are u serious? i just kinda thought the 1.7 was 1.7. i didnt know it was equivalent to a 2.8.
