It's horrible, but at the same time It's funny. G4 Tech Tv's new corporate policy "You're fired!"

It could have a big picture of a guy smiling and pointing a finger at you. Like those old fifty's ads.
 
Whoa, I didn't know they did that. Those evil corporate goons... well not like it's anything new.... but I remember enjoying many a nice evening watching TechTV every once in a while.

Not like the petition is going to actually unfire people, I don't see the point, but there are better ways to fight this if you're opposed to the decisions. Maybe find out where the HQ of the company is that fired them all and smear your fecal matter all over their windows? Just a random idea, you can think of better ones I'm sure, but petitions are the pits.

G4 is the crappiest TV station I've ever had the displeasure of watching.. all the hosts haven't the slightest clue about videogames, and all their reviews are slanted (I haven't seen those two goofballs with the review show give lower than a 7 to a game). TechTV was respectable, now it's just going to suck

the lowest i have seen was 2.5 and i usually find most around 7 and quite a few at 9 and at 5

Edit: And G4 must be doing pretty good Because they now OWN Techtv(litereally)

mainly because there are more kiddies like you who enjoy that show over the young people and adults that watch techtv. not to be rude but g4 wasnt the best show(mildy entertaining and directed toward the "young" audience). :dozey:
 
I liked that biddy who was on the Tech TV show "Extended Play." She had nice tits and didn't really know anything about videogames. What was her name?

from my vast knowledge of american tv [ not] i think that they're both channels on cable.
 
If they don't bring Leo Laporte back and hire him for some G4 shows, I'm going to blow up Comcast Headquarters.

This really pissed me off too. I'm a total nerd and loved being able to turn on the TV and watch stuff about case modding or the latest RIAA scandal.
FYI G4 has been doing horrible from a business standpoint, which is one of the reasons that Comcast (who own G4) bought TechTV out. That they fired the entire staff is a real waste of some good talent.
Edit: Forgot to mention that the firings are not effective immedietly. So create a big enough ruckus and who knows.

whoa, all those signees totaly look fake... anyways petitions never get answered.
 
A major problem with the petitions on that site is, most of the 'signatures' are people saying how stupid petition online is, an in particular the petition they are signing.
 
1. No one is being fired. They are being layed off. Big difference.
2. According to CNET news they are going to hire 80 of the current Tech TV staff. I'm sure this includes the hosts of their primetime lineup.
3. Leo Laporte is back on Tech TV. He is hosting Call for Help.

There is no way I'm signing this petition until I have more details.
 
They didn't fire most of them, although it seems they will have to relocate.
I'm annoyed because they had a good thing going, that was likely going to be better, and now a giant ol' monkey wrench is in the works. And if they screwed up G4 so bad, who knows what will happen in the future?

Naw, I have the medium package of Comcast digital cable, and it would cost a lot more just to get tech tv, thats why i watch G4, and what do u mean by "kiddie" because if you mean 8 year olds, i say no because they swear a lot and other references, etc.

Leo Laporte is hosting Call for Help again?! WOOHOO!! I hated that kid, he was stupid. Is Leo still hosting screen savers or no?
 
Leo's been hosting Call for Help for a while now, after Chriss Perillo left. He was hosting the Screensavers too up until recently, but has now simply become a contributor. The show thankfully is still just as good.
 
It's a pain when things like that happen. I remember a technology show on uk sky, think it was called .tv. It wasn't bad, though covered all "difficulty" levels and as such was quite boring at times. They even did a tutorial on how to create a halflife map :)
And no, i won't sign your petition, they don't mean a thing. Your best chance would be to write and complain, though it's probably too late to try and change things now.
 
I've never seen G4, but the screensavers with Patrick and Leo as hosts was very good. Those were the best episodes, imo. Both the old call for help nerd and that Martin guy are annoying. While change may be different, they're hiring most everybody back, so I don't see many problems for them coming up, hopefully they'll ride it out and stay a good show.

And yes, Morgan Webb has fabulous breasts.
 
Thats what we all hope. I'm hoping that they just don't keep cast members but alsot he managers. They're likely every bit as important to the success of the network, and Comcast has already screwed it up once.
 
When Leo left TechTV there were lots of petitions, and TechTV took their advice. I can't say the same will be true of Comcast, especially with their track record.

IMO, the entire G4 programming schedule could have been stuffed into a single, one hour show and put in the current TechTV lineup. Why are they trying to assimilate the bigger network into the smaller one? No one needs a 24/7 gaming channel. If gamers really want information they just go to a decent gaming website because they are much more up-to-date and they cover more games than a TV show can. I think someone high up at Comcast was on crack.

TechTV had a good formula going (though, I wouldn't have minded an extra gaming show or an extra 30 minutes of X-Play). G4 was turning belly up. The obviouse choice was to tear down the more successful channel and use its resources to fix the one in trouble. Yeah, sure, and I'm sitting here on a HL2 forum because my favorite game is "Drake of the 99 Dragons." Someone should get fired for being that retarded.

I hate when people talk about women that way. It's annoying when people talk about a woman's nice qualities in a vulgar way. Why can't you just say she's good-looking?

Yeah, but the really sad thing is; People like me who watched Tech TV(I don't get it anymore) knew exactly who he was talking about when he said that.
