I downloaded CZ yesterday and I must say that it is one enjoyable game, specifically the bot AI is impressive. I have played CS:S online but I get tired of getting killed all the time because I am not that good yet. I will play CZ for a while but I would really like to play CS:S because of the nicer graphics although CZ looks pretty darn good.

My question is, why can't they just insert the bot AI from CZ into CS:S? The maps are identical and the AI logic would not have to be reprogrammed it should just port right over. Or is there something I'm missing here??

EDIT: Another thing I've noticed is a greater variety of player models. In other words, everyone looks different which is very nice and adds personality to your opponents. When you play CZ you realize just how unfinished CS:S really is. ;( Oh well, what can you do?

Good point, CZ is gr8 fun, especially when you have a lan game with friends against the excellant bots, it gr8 them covering you from behind a shield while you make a dash for the bomb :D

And the CZ knife!! Im in love with that knife and the style of it. Much better than the CS:S one imo.

well because we are playing CSS which is CS1.6 not CZS. sucks but there ya go :/

I know....but if the maps are the same and the objectives are the same......I mean.....there is no difference. I don't see how the bot would know whether it was on a CZ map or a Source map.

Yes, please include bots. Sometimes bots can be really fun and sometimes I don't feel like dealing with the BS that lingers on net servers. Plus, bots would be great to make an otherwise dull and empty game (4 out of 20 players are human) fun... 2 vs. 2 might get boring after a while. Unreal Tourny did it. I don't see why HL2 couldn't.

thats true. But u can't copy and paste code from 1 engine to another :p i bet its quite alot of work to get it working! don't get me wrong though i want those bots 2!

rumors over at the steam forums state that bot ai are already implemented for CS:S. Valve hasn't activated the bot ai as of yet but should do so when HL2 is released on the 16. Nov.

like the original poster said I myself have been quite impressed by CZ bots and i would love to play against them in CSS.

My gripe right now is that I already paid for CZ before the CSS beta ever started. I purchased Hl2 with CSS so I can do the same thing in the new engine but to no avail there are no bots implemented as of yet. If they are planning to add them on the 16th that's fine butat least they could have mentioned that in the first place before i bought Hl2 for CSS.

otherwise in my pathtic newbie (CSS) mind I have to play CZ against the bots which are pretty darn good.

Valve lets have it!!!

I would be satiated if they just gave the effin Hostages some AI.

this is ridiculous.

It was odd that Source came with no player models to choose from as you could in CS: CZ and CS 1.6. I have heard that patches will add different player models for each team . . .any one have the official word on this?

Erik Johnson popped in over at CS-Nation and dropped some information about the next major content update to CS:S. We're working on porting some more of the classic maps right now, currently de_prodigy is in the works. We'll be releasing this as quickly as they are completed.

We're also working on one original map, which will begin internal playtesting this week. This still means we have a fair amount of work to do on it.

We're also working on two updated player models.

Most of this is scheduled to be released in the December timeframe. You can catch the original comments over here.

:D

I also heard that HL2's release will mean bots and upgraded AI. The AI is locked into HL2.

Why play against bots when you can just join an online game and get your butt kicked by me... ;-)
