What is poke?

Yay! I knew somebody would say that!

I'll watch the mice for a bit before surrendering and letting the thread go on.

EDIT: Hmm, there seems to be no Wiki on it, and google gives nothing.

Here's a hint:

Ahi

I'm too interested in how many of you know to give in right now.

Is it a plant?

(i.e. like a salad?)

Ummm...

No.

Ok, I can tell that nobody here has a god damnd clue.

It's raw fish, ESP Ahi (what you haoles would call "yellowfin tuna"), but not limmited to. I sometimes get Ahi Soyu Poke w Chilli water after school, or Kimchee Taco Poke. That's REALLY Good :P

Anyway, how much of you eat?

EDIT: Here's a very dressed up platter (Ahi Poke, looks like with soyu)

MMMMMMM! Might get some tommorow :)

I eat raw fish sometimes, especially herring with onions, a Dutch treat. And I prefer to be called cheesehead instead of haole. :farmer:

Oh thats where it comes from, my grandparents are dutch and we have herring with onions sometimes, and i've wondered why we do, i guess it comes from them, but i do agree they are really really tasty fish, i don't eat any other fish really.

Oh and poke...what? Hawaii thing only it seems...

Cool, I didn't know that any people outside Holland could actually eat them without throwing up :cheese:. Once you get used to the taste they're quite delicious

What? A fish? Poke is a plant that grows in the wild. I have a plant about 8 feet tall next to my yard.

Edit: Oh, I think I was talking about Polk, nevermind.

Sarcasm aside, it is. Dunno about the dutch smludgums, but the Ahi is good :)

Try it some time. Dunno what it'd be called in your country.

It's called "Get a stomach disease".

Never tried it, though.

:p

Only if you refuse to give me stern loving.
