heh Steven Colbert has been on a hot streak lately, he's a master at getting people to make themselves look like fools

Which makes me wonder... can I name them? In any order, to be fair.

1) Have no other God but me.
2) Don't use my name in vain.
3) Respect your parents.
4) Don't kill.
5) Don't covet.

I missed stealing, Sabbath, false witness, adultery, and idolatry. I wasn't sure if stealing was in there, but I could've gotten adultery after a little while...

actually, that's not included in the Ten Commandments... so obviously if it wasn't important enough to tell Moses, it's clearly not a critical point. :cheese:

But where are the people speaking out against that? Or making laws to stop those ppl from marrying?
 
Hahaha, I love Stephen Colbert. While this certainly doesn't trump his Dinner Party speech, it ranks high in awesomeness.

Well first you have to understand the "Sabbath" for Christians is Sunday, not Saturday. Both my parents (Catholic of course) are always off on those days, and mostly just rest or do activities that they want to do, rather than have to.

As fro cursing, yes, it is in my opinion wrong to say the Lord's name in vain, and I do of course remind people who say it not to do so. However, considering it is language, it would be a much trickier thing to ban, as language is something really... sort of just not possible to outlaw and such, whereas granting Govt. papers is a great deal more easy.
 
Of course, theres probably a lot of people who are free from both of those
It's just the amount of people that are doing them is a very large majority
Especially when you consider what it means to honor the sabbath, thats not just 'dont go to work'

It's just such a huge problem and are even commandments and yet I just don't see anything even remotely organized going on to stop this

Many of the 10C would be flatly unconstitutional to require by law. The idea that they are the foundation of US law is a joke that only the most deluded could ever believe.
 
It's such bull when you get told cursing is against the 10 Commandments, last time I checked 'the Lord's' name wasn't f*ck, c*nt or shit.
